Overall Meaning

The Japanese song "Seasons" by Tamaki Hiroshi is a soulful ballad about the passage of time, the memories that we hold onto, and the bittersweet feelings that come with growing older. The first verse speaks of the singer's everyday routines that have become so familiar to him that they feel like a part of him - though he's not quite sure if he's ready to let go of the fading memories associated with them. He watches the waves crashing on the shore behind him as he contemplates the past, unable to hold onto the traces of what once was. In the chorus, he is caught between holding tightly onto the fleeting moments of love and letting go, feeling the sharp pain that comes with this internal conflict. The second verse explores how time and seasons change as life moves on, and how people around us come and go like the scenery that must change with the passing of time. The final verse concludes the song by expressing feelings of sorrow and loss as the singer confronts his own mortality. He hopes to hold onto the memories that are precious to him, yet knows that eventually, they will all fade away just like the seasons.

Overall, the song portrays a poignant and relatable feeling of nostalgia, loss, and acceptance that anyone can relate to. The melancholic melody paired with Hiroshi's heartfelt lyrics make for a beautifully emotive song that resonates with listeners.
