Thank you for the overview.
As a bit of pre-history, until the early 1970s SNCF actually wanted to use gas turbines for their high speed train, considering the difficulties of pantographs during the high speed tests of 1955. So the "TGV 001" test unit was equipped with gas turbines, similar to the earlier ETG and RTG trains. During the 1970s, also considering the oil crisis, they changed their opinion and developed new overhead wire systems and pantographs to work at high speed. A contemporary film about the TGV 001:

Alstom also developed an articulated train with distributed traction, the AGV. That one however was not ordered by SNCF, it was only built for Italian ntv (italo) so far.
Likewise one TGV was tested with tilting technology in order to reduce travel times on classic lines, specifically Paris Austerlitz via Limoges to Toulouse (le Capitole). No series production came out of it.

In addition to the Euroduplex currently under construction, the next generation has already been ordered, 100 Avelia Horizon units:
https://www.alstom.com/press-releases-news/2018/7/alstom-receives-sncf-order-100-next-generation-very-high-speed-trains
The improvements mentioned are: 20% lower cost, shorter power cars and new doubledeck bar car increasing passenger space by 20% at the same length, 30% lower maintenance cost, 20% lower energy consumption. The press release does not mention any equipment for international operation. I assume that's optional.

Great video. For a few that were missed outside of the ones other commenters have mentioned:

Eurotrain: A test train created for the THSR which used ICE power cars and TGV duplex carriages.

TGV P01: A TVG with tilting technology.

AGV Eilsa: Prototype of the TGV successor/Avelia predecessor. It had an EMU formation with distributed traction instead of a power car-carriages formation.

Acela Express: American version using TGV and LRC technology.

Avelia Liberty : Acela successor based on upcoming TGV M/Avelia Horizon.

Where on earth did you heard about a Japanese college about HST in France ?
And early 80's would have been too late as TGV's were developed in the 70's and test running in 1980.
The Japanese were always very protective of their technology, as many other nations, and I really doubt they'd consider, let alone open, a technology transfer learning institution during the 80's in the very same country that is competing with them after the said country had already developed its own trains on its own.
Also given that TGV's and Shinkansen's were maybe the furthest apart of any HST in terms of technology.
The last time I heard a story of sorts, it was almost exactly the same but this time it was about a Spanish train engineering college in Paris that designed for Jacobs bogies typical of the TGV.
And I've also heard pretty much the same story but with an English college.
Which country will it be next time ?
Is that so unbelievable for the French to be able to develop a great thing on their own that everyone has to come with a different origin / rip-off story ?

About journey times : you'd be surprised by how much of an impact a couple dozen minutes have on ridership and economic boost.
Some destinations in France, Germany and Spain had experienced radical economic boost by cutting down journey times by a few.
However I can't wrap my head around the fact that HS1 & HS2 won't really be linked together even though they arrive almost next to each other. Given the huge spending, why not link them together so that trains could run from Manchester to Paris directly ?
Paris and Madrid have high-speed links / bypasses between their main lines so that trains can continue on.
If I remember correctly my numerous trips on the Eurostar, HS1 cut down the trip from London to Paris by almost an hour, wasn't it ?
It went from 3h and a few to 2h15 or something.
This is way more than a couple minutes !
And when you use the tunnel for work, round tripping the same day, it gives you more time working on site or relaxing at home.

As a french railway engineering student, given how similar different TGVs look, the fact that you made no mistake listing and presenting them is very impressive ! Glad to have such good quality content on YouTube

You forgot the TGV La Poste, the world fastest freight train. It was a modified TGV PES, which painted in yellow and allow easy loading of mail.
