I just turned 17 and I had a biopsy done today. I was scared to death and watching videos definitely didn't help!
For everyone watching this video bcs they have to get one done, IT DOESN'T HURT!! I still cried and everything but the procedure itself didn't hurt its the idea that's very scary. It's been 8 hours and I do feel a light, uncomfortable pressure now.

Hey ya'll! I just had this done 7/27/20 and I am a huge chicken when it comes to needles and pain but let me to tell you that it wasn't that bad! It was actually uncomfortable but no pain. Just a little sting from the anesthetic but it was extremely bearable.

@M Tio How did your biopsy go ? I'm watching this video once again because I'll be having a biopsy for the second time. Two years ago I had it done and unfortunately, I was found to have 3 cancerous breast tumors. I had a double mastectomy followed by 3 months of chemotherapy. About a month ago, I felt a lump in my right armpit, so now I'm going through the biopsy procedure again. In my opinion, the biopsy isn't as bad as the waiting for the lab results. I'm so hoping that the cancer hasn't come back. I hate the thought of going through treatment again.

I will be undergoing the same procedure in a few hours. I went here because I wanted to know what exactly to expect. It might help prepare me mentally. To be honest, I am still in a little disbelief since I have never been to the hospital because of my health until today. But it's okay. This is one step towards healing. Wish me well!

I had both an ultrasound and core biopsy yesterday. It was very interesting to say the least. I watched the whole thing on the monitor. It's not everyday you see a needle go through your breast and take samples. There was no pain during, and very little discomfort when numbing wore off. I did take two Tylenol for the discomfort and was fine from there. I will add that today I was itchy, but I'm sure that it's the bandage they put on me. I'm not worried about the results as sitting worrying all weekend about the unknown will not alter the results. I put all my faith in the Father, so His will be done.

I had this done a few days ago, it's not as bad as it looks. The local anesthetic did hurt, but the doctor was very gentle and she used a very thin needle to do it. Once I was all numb I couldn't feel anything and I was fine after that. She used a spring loaded needle to collect 3 biopsies, now just waiting on the results. If you're freaking out about having it done, try not to worry 😊

I had mine done 6 hours ago and all went smoothly. The procedure is more uncomfortable than painful so try not to worry. The worry now starts for my results in 8 days. I'm hoping and praying it's not malignant 🙏

Hello everyone! I had this done today, i was very nervous but it wasnt too bad! The only little pain i felt was when the anesthesia was put in and that was about it. There is some discomfort just because it feels weird but not bad at all. I would say the pressure applied after the procedure is what hurt most but thats about it. I feel sore and will later update on anything else i feel! Hope this helps anyone who is as nervous as i was! Some info about me, i am 22 yrs old:)

I just had a biopsy on 1/25. Watching this video prior to my procedure helped calm my nerves because I knew what to expect. I think my adrenaline was pumping during the actual biopsy, so it was uncomfortable, but not in excruciating pain. For me, it's the aftershocks of the procedure...I experienced a lot of swelling and pain...the achiness and soreness is real one day after. Thank goodness for Tylenol.

I had this done 10/22/21. My doctor was so amazing as she explained everything from the procedure to the discomfort. For me, the local anesthesia hurt because I kept having to be stuck to numb my area. Reason: she asked if I feel sharp or pressure. I felt sharp, which is why I had to be numbed 3x. After that I was fine, but discomfort was felt during the process. However, the assisted nurse/sonographer was amazing in comforting me. She just rubbed my right arm and assured me I was doing great meant so much. After the anesthesia wore off, I am sore!!! Ladies, have your mammogram, I was just going for my annual thinking I would get my letter of clearance in a few days, but instead I got a phone call to get a second mammogram plus and ultrasound. I had ZERO symptoms. I get my results in 2-3 days.

I took two tranquilizers a few hours before the procedure, plus some Tylenol Extra Strength, plus drank Tension Tamer tea instead of coffee, and I brought my heavy quilt to lie under. The lidocaine anesthesia needle hurt. The rest of it, I hardly noticed. This is a huge compliment to chemical pain control as well as to the doctor and her staff. They told me to expect a neck ache. This hit 36 hours later, and it was a humdinger.

I had a breast biopsy today and they said it’s most likely fibrous tissue as well. I tried not to look when they preformed they biopsy so I’m glad I saw this video because it’s a little bit different than I imagined. The video makes it look big and scary but you don’t feel a thing.

I had a biopsy done on both breast at 18. My doctor insisted that I have one because the size of my lumps are questionable and they did make me uncomfortable. I was so scared when he rammed that big ass needle in my breast 😂. It was a painless procedure but it did make me very uncomfortable. Now im 20 and debating if I should take the lumps out bc they are bothering me and sometimes they feel inflamed. The nurse told me if I got them removed my right breast will be significantly smaller then my left which will result in my probably getting a breast implant . I wear DD - DDD so I would consider a breast implant if it meant both breast looking equal

I did this yesterday, there was a little pain at the begging and when i finished doing biopsy and went back home i felt like the needle still there😂 however if there anyone concerns about the pain don’t worry and do biopsy as soon as possible.

For anyone going! My experience it was super scary but I thought it was gonna be way worse if didn't hurt much they gave me a numbing gel then inserted the first needle just felt like a pinch. Then the second which I could feel a bit but didn't hurt. When they use the thick needle to grab the lump tissue that part hurts but its nothing us girls cant get over! So just be strong and hope for the best

I had this done in 2021 when I was 17. And i had it done on my lymph node just under my jaw. I used to read all these comments that you might be reading today. but in my case, it was an extremely painful procedure. they took several samples and it lasted for around 40 minutes. i still remember every minute because it was really painful to go through. and they did use anesthesia (and yes anesthesia stings/burns for a few seconds) and that too twice. but it didn't help for me. maybe it was the site or maybe it was my doctor (but i doubt that because my doctor was a very experienced one). I don't want to scare you if you're having this procedure, but i just want to let you know that even though it was painful it still passes. It's not unbearable and even if it was, you'd have to do it anyways. It is what it is, life is cruel sometimes. So don't worry, have faith that you can endure anything and everything and you will. if it hurts or it doesn't hurt, either way you have to do it. So go on, have faith and you'll be fine. this procedure is only for your benefit. Take care and get well soon :)

Had a core needle biopsy n was a bit nervous about the shot to numb n then the biopsy needle was scary looking too...but glad to say all went well...no pain for numbing n never felt a thing throughout the whole procedure. 4 specimens were taken n so just waiting for results. Just don't be afraid or nervous...not as bad as it looks or sounds. It's been almost 12 hrs since the procedure n still no pain.

I just had my biopsy was extremely nervous & scared but was less then 5 mins he took 3 samples walked me through everything. I felt little to no pain . Cant lift anything over 5 lbs for 24hrs or take a shower til tomorrow but other then that I'm waiting on the results on Monday.

Didn't hurt at all, was nausea's due to anxiety which I was told was normal.

I just had biopsy and they took several sample it wasn't painful at all. So don't worry. They numb the location, then with ultra sound then locate the spot, then remove tissue sample . A couple click s with the needle that pulls out the tissue. I promise you don't feel a thing. So to all wish you luck .

I HATE needles and it honestly didn’t hurt. But it’s kind of like getting a cavity filled. Doesn’t hurt but I was scared the whole time. The gun firing scared me a ton 😱 like I said- didn’t hurt but I always get scared...what if the anesthesia wore off and it suddenly does hurt? My dr was annoyed of me 😂

Having this done tomorrow to 2 different masses. Beyond BEYOND beyond terrified. I have diagnosed PTSD from 10 years of medical procedures and do not cope well at all. Had a FNA done which caused me a panic attack - results inconclusive so now I have to have core needle done. I'm absolutely sick to my stomach, can't sleep for days terrified. Breast cancer runs in my family so I have 0 choice. Not scared about results, waaaay more scared about the 2nd round of biopsies. Even with relaxant meds prior, I was a mess the first first round. HATING life right now.

@Miss.Gshunw I panicked as I knew I would but I had the most amazing nurse who was only there to support me. The Sonographer and DR did the procedure. It was defintely more than just uncomfortable and I did moan in pain a few times but being scared made it worse too. I managed to get through it and am only in minimal pain today. Will find out results soon. 💕

@Miss.Gshunw thank you. What I have mimics what cancerous lumps look like in imaging BUT mine are not cancer thankfully!!!
They're not nothing though so if they change at all by December, I'll have to have surgery to remove 2 of 3 of them. Good news for sure though :)

Got my second breast biopsy yesterday the first time I didn’t feel a thing not even the numbing needle the second time hurt I cried lol I’m not sure if it was because I’m getting close to my period and my breast are extremely sensitive and tender at the moment I felt a little bit of stinging and soreness after the procedure the procedure is pretty quick usually takes a few minutes if you let your doctor know your really scared and nervous they usually tend to be a bit more gentle my doctor referred me to surgery in both breasts to remove the masses they are benign but causing me a lot of pain and discomfort I’ve never had surgery besides getting my wisdom teeth out wish me luck!

I had a breast biopsy done yesterday guided by ultrasound, My Experience was horrific and terrifying, The Dr. didn’t seem to be prepared, Every time he stuck the needle in he seemed to be struggling to get to the spot, it was like he was jamming the needle through, I did feel some pain, He asked the technician for a smaller needle she said they didn’t have any smaller needles, he took tissue further from the spot on one of his collections, and also when he placed the marker and brought back the needle he was looking at it and told the technician he needed a new marker, she left the room, I asked him what happened he said it’s just articraft and showed me the needle with broken little wires, and said it didn’t deploy, the technician came back and he put the new marker in, I was sent to another room for a mammogram. I called the Dr. office and asked to speak with someone concerning my biopsy and I needed to know if pieces of the marker were broken inside me, the lady that answered said the Dr. would call me back. He said not to worry the marker didn’t break and that’s the way the marker looked he also mentioned that he went further in grabbing tissue and if I had remembered that, he said it was perfectly fine that sometimes they don’t get the spot and not to worry. Well I’m worried, I don’t think this Dr. was prepared and I don’t think what I experienced is normal, now I have to wait on a pathology report that I don’t know will be accurate because of the biopsy and what if their is something broken inside of me that can’t be seen? I don’t know what to do, I’m so worried please if anyone can help me figure out what I’m supposed to do now?

I took my biopsy today. I was not lying down. I was sitting in a chair. My breast was inserted in mammograph machine while Doctor inserted needle on the side instead top of breast. When he first went in I felt some discomfort. I think I was more nervous than the test. I know some people will say. It was terrible and painful. You will feel some discomfort some pain and moving around in your breast. This is an important test. I am a nervous person hate pain and needles but if I can be brave enough to do test anybody can. ps My nurse told me it is more comfortable sitting up in chair instead of lying down. Had my breast biopsy (core needle) on 12/16/2022. I promise you I am the most paranoid and nervous person when it comes to procedures, but this procedure was 100% pain free. The MOST I felt was the last minute or 2 of the procedure. Maybe the numbing med was wearing off. No pain, but I felt pulling and stretching. Felt like the doc had stuck her hand inside my breast and was searching for her ring. I know, sounds weird. Felt weird. But no pain. At all. The nurses were amazing and empathetic. Zero pain. Only thing I recommend is, after the procedure get up slowly. Take your time. I moved too fast (eager to get the fk out of there) and got extremely dizzy. I was there alone. Felt sad, but we’ll cared for by staff. Took an Uber to and from. I also recommend you take a snack (something small) to eat afterwards. Absolutely do the ice thing (1 hr on, 1 hr off) that day. Got my results 3 days later. I’m good but will do yearly mammogram now. Blessings and love to all my strong sisters watching this video preparing for your biopsy. And sending a hug to loved ones here trying to learn how to prepare to support a loved one going through this. Thank you

I have had many needles and 13 surgeries. I can't tell you if it was because I am afraid of the results or I just wasn't used to my breast being ruffled up the way it was when I got my biopsy yesterday. Not realy painful but very uncomfortable. And strainge enough I couldn't watch , I turned my head when normaly I would not have had a problem my curiosity usually gets the better of me . It seemed like it took alot of force to get the core biopsy needle in ...3 times and one needle for a metal marker. I than had another mamagram to locate the marker was in place . So all being said I'm a little bruised today no need for pain relief but last night I slept with a bag of frozen veggies. ..a big one . But please people there is a purpose to the appointment you where given . Weather it's for good news and piece of mind or to take control of the unknown , put a face to IT . And kick it ass. Spreading well healthy wishes to everyone going threw this right now in their lives. 💛

I did biopsy one hour ago. For me it was really painful. Local anesthesia will not work properly on me. Even before also. But after the procedure I am feeling better. Not much pain but swelling is there. And heading towards my work. Now waiting and hoping for the best. God bless us ..

@Rabia saad No. after biopsy Doctor suggested removal surgery. Than I went for second opinion. They again tested my samples and day before yesterday I got my reports. And now they will perform surgery. Actually I did ultrasound, mammography, and biopsy. And each report showed suspicious. That’s why again I went for second opinion. Hopefully everything will be ok for both of us. I will pray for you as well. Be strong.

i had a biopsy about 5 months ago and let me say it was painful when i woke up they took out 2 golfball sized lympnodes and still ky armpit still hurts really bad

My biopsy just done today with 8X injection😂😂they cannot get sample because my mass is so solid and moving. When the doctor says LAST TWO, i just close my eyes and exhales then the nurses laugh at me.but not painful, just traumatic. Hoping not cancerous but i already accept it. God will heal me/us

Glad I decided not to watch this BEFORE my procedure. The experience was only mildly uncomfortable. Only the smallest pinprick of pain while they numbed the area. After that it was smooth sailing. It looks SO much worse than it is.

Do they have to re-insert the needle? I’m confused on how they take multiple samples. Mine is happening Friday 😩

@bzed I believe they insert the needle once and it clips out multiple samples, but don't quote me on that. I honestly kept my eyes shut the entire time. I didn't want to see. But honestly it didn't hurt at all! Good luck! And I'm sure it'll go smoothly!

Update: I went for my core needle biopsy in February 2020 but on last moment my doctor advised against the procedure and instead asked me to get the lump removed from both my breasts. I had my surgery in the same month and results came clean. It was fibroadenoma in both breasts.

No it was not a fast growing tumor, 3.8cms left breast and 2.7cms right breast. In one year the size had only increased about 3mm each breast.

I also need to come and say this. This isn't painful procedure at all! The needle looks scary but you don't feel any pain.
Just don't look at the needle! I makes me feel nauseous so I look elsewhere.

Today I did a biopsy and my nerves were larger than the process. I was very scared at first , and my process was a little longer because they took the fibroma out.
It's a bit uncomfortable after, but it's my first day. Hope everything goes well with you!

I do not see any titanium marker was placed? Is the metal marker necessary and if so, as a patient can this be not consented to? I am allergic to any type of metal and I am so scared of metal marker. I am having biopsy next week and I will reject the metal marker if any. did anyone experience it, if so, can you share your post tipsy with metal marker?

I must admit it was no fun. The numbing helped but I could still feel the pricking of the needle during my lymph node biopsy (I don't think she applied enough). It took the doctor (who is in her residency) a while to find a lymph node worth sampling. Finally her supervising physician took over and got it done. I was not happy.

Now the breast biopsy was done right after that and it was MUCH more tolerable then the one of the lymph node and I was surprised by that. After the procedures it took exactly one week for the pain and sensitivity to go away. Grateful for NO cancer found.

CrissyB140 mine was very uncomfortable. I won't lie it hurts. You feel allot of the pain and discomfort . I don't understand how others are saying no pain. I had instant swelling and your given an ice pack afterwards. It's not passing out pain but it hurts pretty bad.

I know it's late, but I just has mine done 6 hours ago. The only thing that "hurt" was the numbing. It was more like a burning feeling. After you are numb, you just feel a lot of pressure. I was scared, but my doctor calmed me down and told me everything that was happening. I just need to ice the area. It was mostly pressure like I said. If it hurts, you need to tell the doctor right away so that they can handle the situation.
