Easy Street
TNT Lyrics

Well I'm dancing through my fantasy
Seemed like everything was right
Yeah I wrapped your love around me
Put my head down in your hands
But I never saw the lights

Well, I stood beside insanity
She looked at me and smiled
She said "boy when I was young I had dreams a lot like you
And I held on for a while"

A faded picture, black and white
A silhouetted memory gone by
The meter's running, you can't save time
Easy Street has no parking signs
Easy Street has no parking signs

Faster than a laser beam
She came to me, a song in my dreams
Better keep my motor running so I'll never miss a beat
Down on easy Street

So I'm cruising through this fairy tale
Or was it just the wine
Still I know I'm just a kiss away
There's nothing more to say
Cause she's heard all the lines - twice

A faded picture, black and white
A silhouetted memory gone by
The meter's running, you can't save time
Easy Street has no parking signs
Easy Street has no parking signs

I'd fly across the stars for you
Do it all for you babe
I'm still here after all that we've been through
I've lost the dice, I've paid my dues
Do it all for your love
For one last time you know I'd bleed again for you

A faded picture, black and white
A silhouetted memory gone by
The meter's running, you can't save time
Easy Street has no parking signs
A faded picture, black and white
A silhouetted memory gone by
The meter's running, you can't save time

Easy Street has no parking signs

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Easy Street" by TNT describes a journey filled with wonders and blunders that depicts the character’s exploration of life through different experiences. The song uses metaphors to convey the message that life is a journey filled with different paths, some of which lead to success while others lead to failure. The opening lines, "Well I'm dancing through my fantasy, seemed like everything was right," signify the character’s joy and happiness at the beginning of the journey. The line, "Yeah I wrapped your love around me, put my head down in your hands," suggests that the character is in a relationship and feeling content.

However, as the song progresses, the character encounters obstacles and distractions, as shown in the lines "A faded picture, black, and white, a silhouette memory gone by." The phrase "Easy Street has no parking signs" implies that the journey is not an easy one and requires constant movement. The character realizes that some of the roads are filled with uncertainties, as indicated in the lyrics, "The meter's running, you can't save time." The character is determined to keep going despite the challenges and the lines, "Faster than a laser beam, She came to me, a song in my dreams, better keep my motor running so I'll never miss a beat" highlight this.

The song is beautifully crafted and conveys a powerful message about life’s journey. It encourages listeners to keep pushing and never lose faith in their abilities. It also teaches that despite obstacles, we should keep moving, giving life our best shot.

Right after INTUITION you'd think no way the next album could be as good as that masterpiece, but they did it again with REALIZED FANTASIES! Tony Harnell has a beautiful voice maybe THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VOICE and the same goes for Ronni's very sweet guitars. Morty Black? Genius one of the best ever. This is the European romantic sound that I love. Perfection.

Another killer album by TNT. More raw but in a good way. The guitars sound awesome

Heavy Metal Hippie

Realized Fanatasies was a major disappointment for me. It took me years to appreciate its dry sound. It has great songs like this, Downhill Racer, Rock'n Roll Away and All You Need, but I think the material on Intuition and Tell No Tales is much stronger and more memorable.

I have loved TNT since I was like 12 or so and for some reason haven't listened to them for like 20 years until recently (43 now). This is fantastic music I don't know what else to say about it. It's subjective I know. It makes me wonder how much amazing music is really out there that never got popularized. This song in particular absolutely reminded me instantly of Queen, which I don't think I made that connection 20 years ago but I'm glad I do now. What a freaking awesome band TNT has been. I get SO sick of people (especially younger generations) categorizing 80's metal as "hair metal" or "glam rock". Then they always list the same bands to define what 80's metal was: Poison, Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Aerosmith, AC/DC. Ugh give me a break already. Now no disrespect to any of those bands because they all have had very impressive resumes for sure. But those bands don't represent what I and so many others experienced as the soundtracks for our individual lives through those years. There was definitely "cheesy" 80's music now that we have had decades to refine our tastes but there was undoubtedly incredible music created at that time not to mention what some bands (like TNT) borne from that golden age had done years later musically. Good music doesn't have an age. TNT embodied a great part of my youth as well as my influence in learning guitar. I tip my hat to its memebers. Love you guys TNT.

Great comment just feeling the same way, Hate the Hair Metal term! Great music from too many different bands. Love my rock school!!

Most underrated album of all the metal bands

My God does this sound like classic Queen! Wonderful song with beautiful guitars and vocals from Mr. Super Singer Tony Harnell although no one can top my fave singer Glen Hughes although some of the more recent stuff Black Country Communion I think goes a bit too far. Let's put them as equally great, but Freddie Mercury is the best. What a horribly sad loss I cried my eyes out when he died.

Fuck off.

Tony is just a vocal gift from god
