she's a symbol of a childlike sense of bravery and belief in love. the lantern she carries is to lead him into the dark forest of the fear he has avoided facing all his life - the fear that has led him to take the easy way out and live superficially like he has. if you notice, in the beginning of the video, he is having a dream just like that last scene where they are at the edge of the forest, but is afraid to follow her before he wakes up.

love the song.. the lyrics and depth of the video.. wish more pop was like this... simple, heartfelt.. and focused on love. ... can't say enough good about this song.. the video is dope.. really digging the idea of how he wakes up from his "Dream".. only to go back to the dream.. and in the end, the dream becomes his reality.
