Work It Out
TV Original Soundtrack Lyrics

Nothing to add, you follow
I'll tell you something, you don't know
Take a look at me now
Got plenty going on on my own
You have got to
Work it out
Uh-huh
You're never quite as thrilling to someone else
What you've got on your mind
We're getting without it just fine
You have got to
Work it out
Uh-huh
Do I look like I've been taught
Turn you into something you're not
Up, down, side to side
Got better things to do with my time
You have got to
Work it out
Uh-huh
Uh-huh
You work it out
Don't come to me like you do
Going wrong, so what's new
Nothing to add, you follow
I'll tell you something, you don't know
You have got to
Work it out
Uh-huh
Uh-huh
You work it out
The song "Work it Out" by TV Original Soundtrack talks about the importance of self-empowerment and being confident in oneself rather than always seeking validation and approval from others. The beginning of the song sets the tone for this message, with the lines "Nothing to add, you follow. I'll tell you something, you don't know." suggesting that the singer is confident in their own knowledge and does not need validation from others. The chorus emphasizes the need to "Work it Out," or to find solutions to personal problems on your own, rather than relying on others for guidance.
The second verse moves away from the theme of self-empowerment and focuses more on individuality. The lines "Disillusion yourself. You're never quite as thrilling to someone else" suggest that the singer believes that people should not try to change themselves to fit into someone else's idea of what is attractive or desirable. They believe that everyone should embrace their unique qualities and not try to change themselves to please others.
Overall, "Work it Out" is a song that encourages listeners to be confident in themselves and to prioritize their own happiness rather than seeking validation or changing themselves to fit into someone else's mold.

Train up a child!
I was born in 71. My family drove from Decatur, IL to Springfield, IL EACH & EVERY Sunday. We played several tapes (yall remember those right? Cassettes? Lol) and one of them was called Gospel Gold. And this song was on there! Every time it came on, it woke me and my family up! Hallelujah! To this day, I still get filled with the Spirit at some point during the song bc it reminds me no matter what "Jesus ALREADY worked it out!" Wooooo! I'm starting to shout again bc..
October 16, 2019 (one week after my birthday) I was informed that I have cancer. Will never forget...I NEVER worried and never felt scared, but I cried because I thought about my wife and kids. I wondered if it was in God's will for me to 'go home'. So, of course I prayed. And then I played this song and "gave it over to the Lord to work it out!"
Dec 21, 2019, I had a successful surgery to remove the cancerous organ from my body. Thought it was all over but the cancer continued to show signs that it was still there. Went an entire year waiting and testing, hoping the test result numbers would stop increasing. (But like Bad Boy Records, it kept on saying I thought I told you that we won't stop). They increased so much that I changed doctors and the new doctor told me that we needed to move fast and get me started with radiation therapy treatment. He set me up with the BEST oncologist in the world (in my opinion). "Tell you what you ought ta do".....Listen, I promise that it has been ONLY 6 months (from March to September 2021) with exactly 2 months of radiation therapy (June to August) and on September 30th, my oncologist told me that I am 100% CANCER FREE!!!
Just one question "Won't He do it?"
And on October 9th, 2021, I'll be celebrating my 50th birthday!!
"Didn't he, Didn't he work it out!
Didn't he, Didn't he work it out!
Didn't he, Didn't he work it out!
GAVE IT OVER TO THE LORD, HE WORKED IT OUT!!!"
