THis is a NEW reconstruction of the opening song of third and following seasons of "happy days"
, full of FOUR verses, . I used the first verse released in the 45 rpm record, while the second , the third verse only found in the score ( background music ) of the first episodes of season one
( the middle assolo is a mix between the assolo in season-theme from the third to the tenth , and the solo sax appeared in 11th season.) .The original song was first recorded in 1974 by Jim Haas with a group of other session singers for the first two seasons (Jimmy Haas on lead vocals, Ron Hicklin of the Ron Hicklin Singers, Stan Farber, Jerry Whitman, and Gary Garrett on backing vocals, and studio musicians. the "original cast")These versions of the song were used ONLY for the ending credits of Seasons 1 and 2, ( because an updated version of "Rock Around the Clock" by Bill Haley and His Comets was used as the opening theme). The song was re-recorded in 1975 by Jim with different lyrics for both the opening and closing credits for Seasons 3 through 10 ....Pratt & McClain released the song - complete of all verses - as a single in 1976 from their album Pratt & McClain Featuring Happy Days. The complete original song was never released by the original cast.

Yeah that ain't happening until well after American society collapses. We're showing all the signs of an empire in decline and I'm not seeing any way out of it - neither political party is competent nor do (the majority of) politicians really care about anything but their own careers. And then there's Wall St and the investor class which just can't stop frothing at the mouth for robbing the rest of us blind.

Best thing you can do is stop playing their games - don't work for, invest in, or do business with Fortune 500 companies, and don't ever believe that the federal government under the control of either party will save you. Instead, rebuild your local communities that have been destroyed by these companies and by the state - get to know your neighbors, form renters and homeowners unions, start and support small businesses, buy from farmers markets and worker co-ops, and come together to take care of the physically and mentally ill in your community. It's not easy and it's very inconvenient at times, but building up these small communities is the best way to weather this storm that will only get nastier. The Fall of America is going to be like the Fall of Rome on PCP.

The anthem of a time and society long gone, never to be seen again. The lyrics might have even been somewhat true back in the era in which the show was centered. I can't get through this song without becoming emotional and nostalgic about what we've lost in the name and the relentless pursuit of "Modernity". I'm 70 years old and lived during those times, and I can tell ya, it was a HELLUVA lot better back then!! Our current world and its endless bullsh!t ain't something I'm gonna be missin' in any way when I'm gone!

Actually the original song was Rock Around the Clock by Bill Hailey and the Comets. The series made it a hit again! Not sure why they decided to change it, but this was a great theme as well!

I mean people in the past didn't walk around saying, "We are living in the past! Let's talk about how we are the past and so not the future!". No, for them at the moment, it was the present or future/recent past. Humans in every era, got nostalgic over the past and looked down on people of the past with a smug superiority, until they move forward and get older in the future and learn that a new younger generation looks at their younger years the way THEY looked at older people's past. The same thing will happen to you.

Everytime I heard the theme tune on Saturdays, we would all stop playing. Run inside n sing the theme tune and watch Happy Days and then get ice cream afterwards
