The lyrics in Tahiti's song Love Sick explore the idea of two different types of men: the play boy and the bad boy. The singer describes herself as a "doctor" or healer for the play boy type, potentially someone who can help him mature and develop into a more serious, committed partner. However, the singer also acknowledges that these types of men can be confusing for women who are waiting for them to change. The recurring chorus emphasizes the singer's love sickness, or her intense feelings for a man who may not reciprocate her emotions.
The imagery of the song creates a contrast between the hard, rough qualities of the bad boy and the soft, gentle qualities of the singer's love. The repetition of the phrase "play boy" also emphasizes the superficial nature of this type of man's relationships. The singer seems to be searching for something deeper and more meaningful, but is constrained by her feelings for this man who may not be capable of providing that kind of connection.
Overall, Love Sick highlights the complexities of navigating relationships with different kinds of men and the difficulty of reconciling one's feelings with reality.
