Williams left the band in 1995 while the four remaining members completed their world tour and released a final single before splitting up in 1996. After filming a 2005 Take That: For the Record about the group and releasing a new greatest hits album, a four-piece Take That without Williams officially announced a 2006 reunion tour around the UK, entitled The Ultimate Tour. On 9 May 2006, it was announced that the group were set to record new material together once again; their fourth studio album, Beautiful World, was released in 2006 and was followed up with The Circus, in 2008. The group achieved new success as a four-piece, scoring a string of chart hits across the UK and Europe while selling over 45 million records worldwide. Williams rejoined Take That in 2010 for the band's sixth studio album, Progress. Released on 15 November of that year, it was the first album of new material to feature Take That's original line-up since their 1995 album, Nobody Else. It became the fastest-selling album of the 21st century and the second fastest-selling album in British history.
In 2014, the band recorded a seventh studio album, this time as a trio without Williams and Orange. The album, titled III, was released in November 2014 and became the band's seventh number one. It was preceded by the single "These Days", which became the band's 12th number one single in the UK.
In 2011, Take That set the new record for the fastest-selling tour of all time in the UK with Progress Live, beating the previous record set by their Circus Live Tour in 2009. At the 2011 Brit Awards they won Best British Group. In 2012, Forbes named them the fifth highest-earning music stars in the world. The group performed at the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony, playing "Rule the World" while the Olympic Flame was extinguished. In the same year, the Official Charts Company revealed the biggest-selling singles artists in British music chart history with Take That currently placed at 15th overall, making them the most successful boy band in UK chart history. Four of their albums are listed in the best-selling albums of the millennium, with three of them among the 60 best-selling albums in UK chart history.

A star, so bright, you blind me, yeah
Don't close your eyes
Don't fade away, don't fade away, oh
Yeah, you and me, we can ride on a star
If you stay with me, girl
We can rule the world
If you stay by my side
We can rule the world
If walls break down, I will comfort you
If angels cry, oh I'll be there for you
You've saved my soul
Don't leave me now, don't leave me now, oh
Yeah, you and me, we can ride on a star
If you stay with me, girl
We can rule the world
Yeah, you and me, we can light up the sky
If you stay by my side
We can rule the world
Oh, all the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you, oh
Yeah, you and me, we can ride on a star
If you stay with me, girl
We can rule the world
Yeah, you and me, we can light up the sky
If you stay by my side
We can rule the world
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you
All the stars are coming out tonight
They're lighting up the sky tonight
For you, for you
The lyrics to Take That's song Rule the World speak to a deep connection between two people, where one person provides light and hope to the other. The opening lines paint the picture of a star in the sky shining so bright that it blinds the person looking at it. The singer implores the other person not to close their eyes or fade away, suggesting that the connection between them is a source of sustenance and strength. The chorus reveals that the two people can "ride on a star" and "light up the sky" if they stay together, suggesting that their bond is powerful enough to overcome anything.
The second verse further highlights the strength of the bond between the two people, as the singer promises to comfort the other person if walls break down or angels cry. The idea of saving the other person's soul reinforces the idea that their connection is deep and meaningful, and the singer asks the other person not to leave them. The final repetition of the chorus emphasizes the idea that the stars are coming out for the other person specifically, reinforcing the idea that their relationship is something truly special.
Overall, the lyrics to Rule the World speak to a deep connection between two people that is strong enough to withstand anything, and the power of that connection to bring hope and light even in the darkest times.
