Parker's 2012 follow-up, Lonerism, was also acclaimed, reaching platinum status in Australia and receiving a Grammy Award nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. Tame Impala's third album, Currents, was released in July 2015,[6] and like its predecessor, it won ARIA Awards for Best Rock Album and Album of the Year. Parker won the APRA Award for Song of the Year 2016 for Currents' first track, "Let It Happen". The fourth and most recent studio album, The Slow Rush, was released 14 February 2020.

Me and my love, we'll take it slow
I hope she knows that I'll love her long
I just don't know where the hell I belong (oh, no)
How optimism led me astray
Two hundred things I took the wrong way
But I saw her love gauge runnin' low
I tried to fill, but it overflowed
Feels like my life is ready to blow
Me and my love, we're takin' it slow
I hope she knows that I'll love her long
I just don't know where the hell I belong (oh, no)
She remembers my name
Could be blown way out
It's all goin' to change
She remembers my name
But she was only messing around
Please, no more playing with my heart
Ooh, go Mr. Right just for once
(Then it all just came out) ooh
No more mischief with my mind (guess I'll hold in, next time)
No more gettin' it wrong
I'll be frozen, here on
If forever, we'll see
No more guessin' for me
Ooh, I was just so sure of everything
Ooh, that's what you get for dreamin' aloud
(Then it all just came out)
(Guess I'll hold in, now on)
(If forever, we'll see)
Ooh, the day that words are clearer for me (no more guessing for me)
The lyrics to "Mind Mischief" by Tame Impala speak to the singer's confusion and uncertainty in relationships. The song begins with the line "Feels like my life is ready to blow," indicating that the singer is feeling overwhelmed and perhaps on the verge of giving up. However, he is determined to take his romantic relationship slowly, expressing his love for his partner and acknowledging his own uncertainty.
The second verse speaks to the singer's past mistakes in relationships, stating that his optimism led him astray and that he misinterpreted things. Despite his efforts to fill his partner's "love gauge," it overflows, suggesting that he may be too much for her to handle. The chorus repeats the first verse's sentiments and suggests that the singer feels lost and out of place, unsure of where he belongs.
The third verse introduces a new element to the story, with the singer's partner remembering his name. This could be interpreted in a few ways; perhaps they've had a rocky relationship in the past and he's surprised that she remembers him positively. The bridge suggests that the singer has had enough of "mind mischief" and that he wants his partner to stop playing games and commit to him. He acknowledges that he's made mistakes and that he'll need to be patient, but he's ready for clarity and honesty in the relationship.
Overall, "Mind Mischief" speaks to the struggle of navigating romantic relationships and the confusion that often comes with them. The singer is honest about his uncertainty and past mistakes, but he's ready to move forward and find clarity with his partner.
