Return of the Filth Hounds
Tank Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ten long years of being off the tracks
We return a full on attack well, well, well
The tour bus Parked right out the back
The parking lot at Offenbach we met some friends there
Manfred and Gotz...They're out there, somewhere Manfred and Gotz...
They're out there, somewhere Cerberus...
Heralds the return Cerberus... Heralds the return Cerberus-Heralds the return... Of the filth hounds
We disembark for a night time raid Deutschland roars as we hit the stage...
Man, you should've been there Manfred and Gotz...
They're out there, somewhere Manfred and Gotz....
They're out there somewhere Cerberus...
Heralds the return Cerberus... Heralds the return Cerberus... Heralds the return... Of the filth hounds

M.T.W. Hammer on!!! Cerberus... Heralds The Return Cerberus...Heralds The Return Cerberus...
Heralds the return... Of the filth hounds...[x2]

God i miss Algy playing live. superb songwriter, lyricist, arranger, bassist, performer and what a beautiful voice. deep baritone and full of soul. i bet he could sing barry white covers as good as barry. best anti war songs ever written.

My review on Allmusic written September 29, 2018. 4 Stars

Recorded live in 1997, Tank sounds great on The Return Of The Filth Hounds Live released in 1998 on Rising Sun Productions out of Germany. Tank does a nice mix of classics across their first four LPs and the single "Don't Walk Away". Some highlights include "This Means War", "T.W.D.A.M.O.", "Power Of The Hunter" and "Shellshock". They also perform "And Then We Heard The Thunder" and include "In The Last Hours Before Dawn" as a studio track from their upcoming album; Still At War. That album was not released until 2002, roughly five years later. Anyway, a well produced live record from Algy and the boys is what is presented here. Sounds great and well worth seeking out.
