Tu dois partir
Tanya St-val Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
qu'il soit trop tard,
que tu sois blanc ou bien noir,
lorsque le ciel te désire,
tu dois partir.
Que tu sois mal,
que tu sois bien,
que tu ne sois rien,
lorsque le ciel te désire,
tu dois partir.
Tu dois partir,
tu dois partir,
ne rien garder, rien emporter, rien retenir,
lorsque le ciel te désire,
tu dois partir.
Que tu sois seul, roulé en boule,
ou un héros porté par la foule,
lorsque le ciel te désire,
tu dois partir.
Tu dois partir, tu dois partir
ne rien garder, rien emporter, rien retenir,
lorsque le ciel te désire,
to dois partir.
Lorsque le ciel te désire
tu dois partir.
Lorsque le ciel te désire,
tu dois partir...
The lyrics to Tanya St-val's song Tu dois partir speaks about the inevitability of death. The verses describe how it doesn't matter whether it's too early or too late, whether you're black or white, rich or poor, or even if you're a hero or a nobody, when the sky desires you, you must leave everything behind and depart. The chorus repeats the phrase "Tu dois partir" which translates to "You must leave," reinforcing the idea that death is an inescapable reality, and one must leave without holding onto anything, as it is only when the sky calls for you that you depart.
Overall, the song's message is about acceptance and letting go. It encourages listeners to come to terms with the inevitable and to focus on living their lives to the fullest while they can. The lyrics are written in a way that is both poignant and uplifting, reminding us that life is short and that we should embrace it while we still have the chance.
