Leaving you for me featuring Martin Kesici
Tarja Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I can´t regret ´cause I don´t even know what I did wrong
Freedom died with you
I´m searching for myself
I wanna feel alive
What about me?(echo)
Try to understand
That I´m only leaving you for me
(Are you trying to hurt me?)
Demons in my head
They won´t let go
Hiding from the truth
His strange trough his thoughts
I can go exploring every corner of his soul
Life has to go on
You'll still find your way
I wanna feel alive
(What about me)
Leaving you for me (what about us)
Try to understand
That I´m only leaving you for me
(Are you trying to hurt me?)
Demons in my head
They won´t let go
I've lock the door
Deep inside
Different memories
I've lock the door, deep inside, different stories...
Martin talking: What about you? What about me?
Leaving you for me (what about us?)
Try to understand
That I´m only leaving you for me
(Are you trying to hurt me?)
Demons in my head
They won´t let go
Leaving you for me (Tarja: Leaving you for me....)
(what about us)
Try to understand (Martin: Try to understand)
That I´m only leaving you for me
(Are you trying to hurt me?)
Demons in my head
They won´t let go
Ooooooh....
Martin: Are you trying to hurt me?
The lyrics to Tarja's song "Leaving You for Me" featuring Martin Kesici expresses a feeling of confusion and a desperate need for personal liberation. The singer is sitting alone, unsure of what they have done wrong but unable to deny that their freedom has "died" in their current situation. They are searching for themselves and longing to feel alive. The singer seems to be caught between a sense of responsibility towards their partner and an intense need for personal fulfillment. Deep down, they know that they must leave their partner to explore themselves, but they fear that this decision will hurt the one they love.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Leaving You for Me," emphasizing the internal conflict of the singer. The demons in their head won't let go, and they feel trapped between their own desires and the fear of hurting someone else. The lyrics suggest that the singer has already locked away many memories and stories, buried deep inside themselves. They know that they must let go and move on for their own happiness, but it is not an easy decision to make.
Overall, the song speaks to the difficulty of breaking free from relationships that no longer serve us, even if it means hurting others in the process. It's a complex emotional struggle that many people can relate to on some level.
