Tell Me Why
Taylor Swift Lyrics

I took a chance, I took a shot
And you might think I'm bulletproof, but I'm not
You took a swing, I took it hard
And down here from the ground I see who you are

I'm sick and tired of your attitude
I'm feeling like I don't know you
You tell me that you love me then you cut me down

And I need you like a heartbeat
But you know you got a mean streak
Makes me run for cover when you're around
And here's to you and your temper
Yes, I remember what you said last night
And I know that you see what you're doing to me
Tell me why

You could write a book on how to ruin someone's perfect day
Well I get so confused and frustrated
Forget what I'm trying to say, oh

I'm sick and tired of your reasons
I got no one to believe in
You tell me that you want me, then push me around

And I need you like a heartbeat
But you know you got a mean streak
Makes me run for cover when you're around
And here's to you and your temper
Yes, I remember what you said last night
And I know that you see what you're doing to me
Tell me why

Why, do you have to make me feel small
So you can feel whole inside
Why, do you have to put down my dreams
So you're the only thing on my mind

Well I'm sick and tired of your attitude
I'm feeling like I don't know you
You tell me that you want me then cut me down
I'm sick and tired of your reasons
I've got no one to believe in

You ask me for my love then you push me around
Here's to you and your temper
Yes, I remember what you said last night
And I know that you see what you're doing to me
Tell me why
Why, tell me why

I take a step back, let you go
I told you I'm not bulletproof
Now you know

Who’s here after Taylor announced she’s re-recording this album?!

The Link Guy

I feel like people fail to understand that Taylor HAD to change. I loved her old style too but in the bigger picture she had to move on and change her style in order to remain relevant. Even if she didn't intend to change that way, Big Machine would definitely force or influence her to change because they need her to stay interesting. Remember she wanted to call her Speak Now album Enchanted but the CEO of Big Machine rejected the name because they didn't want it to be the same as Fearless. You can tell that Taylor never intended to change but she HAD to. That's why now when she's out of Big Machine, her new music from Lover is actually similar to her old music but in a more mature and obviously pop way. There's no "old taylor" or "new taylor", she's the same person who just grew up.

Elmer Flores

Her switching to pop was the best decision of her entire life because if she stayed in country she would've turned irrelevant.

sodium chloride

yea, it’s silly to assume that taylor would stay the same from 16-30

@Irene Flores Yeah I realized my mistake in my comment. She did want to experiment but I think either way she herself knew how the industry worked and that artists have to constantly change their image while still being familiar to be exciting. She not only wanted to experiment but she also knew the industry was ever-evolving and she used her curiosity to her advantage.

Irene Flores

Big machine never forced her to change to pop. She WANTED to. She wanted to experiment. They actually advised her not to.

TastedGlory

I can't believe she wrote a song about narcissists

Jessica Abbott

I know, right? She never trusts them, but they love her.
