Born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, Swift relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 2004 to pursue a career in country music. She broke into the country music scene with her eponymous self-titled debut studio album, Taylor Swift in 2006, which included the singles "Teardrops on My Guitar" and "Our Song". Swift also released the holiday album, Sounds of the Season: The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection, later titled as The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection in October 2007.

She also released the critically acclaimed documentaries Miss Americana and Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions that year. Swift's tenth studio album, Midnights (2022), marked her triumphant return to pop after two folk albums. Additionally, Swift began re-recording her back catalog in November 2020 as a result of a publicized dispute with talent manager Scooter Braun and her former label Big Machine, regarding the acquisition of the masters of her back catalog. In April 2021, Swift released a re-recorded issue of her 2008 album Fearless, titled Fearless (Taylor's Version). It debuted at number one in the US. Swift continued releasing re-recorded versions of her back catalog in November, 2021 with the release of Red (Taylor's Version), a 30 track re-issue of her 2012 critical smash. The album debuted at #1 in the US, spawned the #1 hit All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version) (From the Vault), and broke the record at the time for biggest first day for a female album on Spotify. Red (Taylor's Version) was a critical and commercial hit, and proved that Swift's ambitious plan to re-record her first 6 albums was well worth it.

Along with the release of Red (Taylor's Version) came All Too Well: The Short Film (2021), Swift's filmmaking debut. The 15 minute romantic drama was based on the lyrical content from Swift's 2012 fan favorite "All Too Well" starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien. It had a limited theatrical release in major cities, and Swift held special screenings of the film throughout 2022 at various film festivals. Funny how so many people just ignore the fact that All Too Well (the 10 min version), 22 and The Moment I Knew together narrate an incident so precisely. In ATW, she says that her Lover never showed up to her 21st birthday, and could be a sequel to this song. Taylor probably was feeling under the weather during the party, because we have the line "You who charmed my dad with self effacing jokes, sipping coffee like you're on a late night show, then he watched me watch the front door all night willing you to come, and he said it's supposed to be fun, turning 21." In TMIK, Taylor sings about how everyone turned up at her party, but her lover, and basically how she felt that day. She even explained this song in interview about how her lover didn't turn show up at her party and that they broke up after that night. This is where she inserts Begin Again, which is all about healing from a heartbreak and finding love. She describes how happy the new person made her feel, unlike the previous one. 22 comes into the story, how she felt the need to make it up for her previous birthday. It is about her not depending on anyone else for her satisfaction and is about getting ready for the next chapter of her life. HER MIND.

It’s exactly how I felt when my parents didn’t show up to my high school graduation back in 2018. I will say I really liked the beat on this song, I can't pinpoint what instrument comes in it is very deep and has base. I was picturing a cello but I honestly don't know what a cello sounds like maybe it's deepest cord. But the song has this weight and when that base comes in so heavy also it is almost enough to overwhelm you.
