I got the Hippy Hippy Shakes
I got the Shakes
I got the Hippy Hippy Shakes
Ooh, I can't sit still
With the Hippy Hippy Shakes
I get my fill, now
Yeah, it's in the bag
Ooh, the Hippy Hippy Shake
Well, now, you shake it to the left
You shake it to the right
Do the Hippy Shake Shake
With all of your might
Ooh, baby
Ooh, yeah come on and shake
Ooh, it's in the bag
Oh,The Hippy Hippy Shake
Well, now you shake it to the left
Shake it to the right
you do the hippy shake shake
with all of your might
oh baby yeah come on shake
oh it's in the bag
Ooh, the Hippy Hippy Shake
Ooh, the Hippy Hippy Shake
Ooh, the Hippy Hippy Shake
The lyrics of Taylor Vince's song "Brand New Cadillac" don't seem to have any relation to its title; they seem to describe the feeling of having the "Hippy Hippy Shakes." The Hippy Hippy Shakes was a popular dance move and song in the 1950s that was all about letting loose and dancing until you got the shakes. The phrase "in the bag" refers to being secured or settled, suggesting that these shakes are something that the author has fully embraced and is not afraid of. The repetition of the phrase "I got the Shakes" and "Hippy Hippy Shake" creates a sense of frenetic energy, perfectly encapsulating the feeling of not being able to sit still and having an uncontrollable urge to dance.
The song's lyrics are fairly straightforward, but the energetic tone and enthusiastic delivery of each line makes it a fun and infectious tune. The chorus "Ooh, the Hippy Hippy Shake" is incredibly catchy and easy to sing along with, making it a crowd-pleaser even decades after its initial release. Overall, this song is a celebration of the joy and freedom that comes with dancing to one's heart's content, with no rules or expectations to hold you back.

Few weeks ago, I bought myself my first cadillac. 1967 Sedan Deville. Driving it home, blasting this song, damn you just can't beat that feeling. I am only 19 years old, never believed that it would be possible to own an old caddy being this young. Dreaming of buying a 1959 coupe someday, gotta work hard for that still.

In case no one else has mentioned it, Vince was the inspiration for David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. And that caused an unexpected revival of Vince's career in the 1970's and 80's.
