The feeling of dread or anxiety that something bad may happen.

This was the moment I feared
The realization of a fear that was previously imagined.

A recurring nightmare of falling from a great height.

In this dream I had, when I land
Continuing the description of the nightmare of falling.

I can taste the blood, I can smell the concrete
Experiencing the vivid senses of landing on the ground after the fall.

And I can feel my bones crush on a calm street
Physical sensations of the body being crushed and broken upon impact.

Dark and desolate, my heart I never get
Emotional state of feeling alone and abandoned.

Another beat I'm gonna be other head to split, my hell is credited
The fear of dying a violent death and experiencing eternal suffering in hell.

Where the red is in, I'm down and dead admit in light I'm dreadin' this
Admitting the fear of dying and facing the unknown.

If we're created of God than predestination
Discussing the concept of predestination as a belief in religion.

Should not be looked at as odd, when we're blessed to wake in-
Accepting predestination as a part of a higher power's plan.

The feeling of déjà vu in a moment of fear or uncertainty.

Making light of the situation and distractions from religious beliefs.

So I'm hopin' and prayin'
Expressing the hope and prayer for safety and protection.

That I won't be opened and sprayin'
The fear of violent harm or death in real life.

In real life and it's just a dream, and it's not a thing that can sway my view
The fear of a nightmare becoming a reality and changing one's perspective.

But my fear is that I end up layin' and ready for decayin'
The fear of dying and facing the physical consequences of death.

What I thought was a dream now it's Déjà vu
The realization of a previous nightmare becoming reality.

If I fall will the angels catch me?
The hope or question of divine intervention in a moment of danger or fear.

Or in it all is it my destiny?
Questioning the fate and destiny of one's life.

Is there a sound when the ground absorbs me?
Wondering about the physical consequence of death in regards to sound.

Or a dream tellin' me my story
Questioning the reality of one's life and the perception of reality.

I called up my mother, but who answered my brother
Making a phone call to a family member and being answered by another.

He said "she real sick but I'm gonna put her on just tell her you love her"
Receiving information regarding a sick family member and expressing love and care for them.

My heart it just fluttered when mama picked up she would utter
Feeling emotions of nervousness and excitement, hearing a loved one's voice.

"Who is this?" I said "Donnie", but she thought I was another
Being mistaken for another person by a family member who is experiencing memory loss.

Didn't even know me, and she's not an oldie
Realizing the deterioration of a loved one's memory and health.

It's the lupus or epilepsy
Naming the illnesses that are causing the family member's sickness.

Maybe the psychosis solely
Speculating the cause of the loved one's sickness as a mental illness.

"This your son I just called to say happy birthday"
Making a phone call to a family member to express birthday wishes.

Not really knowin' me hit me in the worst way
Feeling the emotional weight of a loved one not recognizing or recalling important facts.

Then she said "Oh yeah, little Donnie, how you doin' in school?"
Recalling past memories from childhood and asking about current status.

I give my arm, leg, leg, arm, head if that means my momma get better
Expressing the willingness to sacrifice for a loved one's health and well-being.

Toughest thing to swallow is when someone who raised you, they gonna forget ya
Acknowledging the difficult emotional impact of a family member with memory loss.

Experiencing emotional turmoil in response to a loved one's illness.

Steady praying for a higher power to come down and change it

In due time it'll make her son a stranger
The fear of the loved one's sickness causing them to forget or not recognize their family members.

A stranger to the one who raised us
The fear of a loved one forgetting about their children or family members.

Nameless to the one who named us
The possible loss of identity or recognition from a loved one who named or gave birth.

Back to the place where it all began
Returning to the place of birth or childhood.

I'm seeing heaven but I fear it's the end
Experiencing a moment of peace or tranquility, but fearing that it is the end of life or one's existence.

Taught to have faith in God
Acknowledging the religious background and upbringing of being taught to have faith in a higher power.

Breakin' bread then we bakin' K.O.D
Enjoying food and drink, possibly making reference to a food item called K.O.D.

Makin' plenty then spread it abroad
Sharing abundance and wealth with others.

Wash it down with a glass of Shiraz
Drinking wine, specifically Shiraz.

I try to walk the path of the righteous one
Striving to live a morally upright and just life.

But this life is one, that's full of strife, let's run
Acknowledging the difficulties and challenges of life, hoping to evade or overcome them.

To the mountain top
Striving for success or accomplishment.

What I'm 'bout to say if suckas starts to thinking this holy name
Preparing to make a bold statement or declaration regarding religion or spirituality.

I denounce then stop
Declaring a rejection of a particular belief or religion, then stopping to explain or justify.

Man, I'm just sayin'
Indicating that what was said is just a statement or observation.

I do a whole lot of prayin'
Expressing the act of constant prayer or meditation.

And I wonder if it's listenin' to Aaron's nightly whisperin'
Questioning whether or not divine intervention is listening to the prayers or whispers at night.

Praying for a loved one's sick mother who may be struggling to pay tithes or offerings.

I know it's a blessing, that I raised kids cause I got skill
Acknowledging the blessing and skill of raising children.

And thank God that gangbang thing didn't bring me hot steel
Grateful for not becoming involved in gang violence or crime, which could have led to a negative outcome.

Now my mom's worse and a lot ill
Describing the current condition of a loved one, who may be experiencing a decline in health.

My fear is that this God I'm prayin' to for my mother is not real
The fear and doubt of the existence and power of a higher power, and the effectiveness of prayer in healing.

Extinguish me from this world of fire
The desire for escape or removal from a world filled with negativity and chaos.

False teachings taught by liars
The belief that certain religious teachings or beliefs are untrue or misleading.

Prayers that go in an empty asylum
Expressing the feeling of prayers going unheard or unanswered.

No salvation from this messiah
The doubt or disbelief in the existence or power of a messiah or savior.
