It only got a brief mention but I'm genuinely surprised to see "The Witch & The Hundred Knight" get brought up. It's not the most unknown of games but it's still pretty dang obscure. Definitely didn't review well in the West, that was for sure. I've often heard it described as "Disgaea meets Diablo" but being big into the former and relatively inexperienced with the latter, I was never sure. Given that was the exact descriptor given in this video, I guess it must have been rather accurate.
But yeah, despite it's issues, I absolutely love the game. Being a big NIS fan, it's a game I naturally gravitated towards and it's definitely their style. Silly and over-the-top, surprisingly dark and macabre at times, but surprisingly heartfelt. I was obsessed with the game for way too many years, even still somewhat nowadays. Heck, I immediately noticed the song that played from 31:50 to 32:33 was "Nadeshiko", a track from the game. Really caught me off guard until the game itself got brought up.
Unfortunately, it was a short-lived series but it still managed to get a bit of a legacy regardless.
There's the original PS3 game, the superior PS4 remaster, and the sequel (which sadly wasn't quite as good). The main character, Metallia, has appeared as a DLC character in two different "Disgaea" entries ("D2" and "5"). The "Disgaea" mobile game, "Disgaea RPG", even had a "Witch & Hundred Knight" event that brought in multiple characters from the series, and even did costume swap variants between the two which was kinda unique and funny. There's even a one-shot manga I believe, though forever JP only from the looks of it.
Though I guess you can say the series still technically lives on through it's spiritual successor, the "Labyrinth of" series...which are basically "Disgaea" but as DRPGs. "Labyrinth of Refrain" was a surprise success and its sequel "Labyrinth of Galleria" is finally getting an international release early next year. It carries on the same aesthetic, terminology, concepts, and there's even some direct minor connections if you dig and overanalyze a little.
So, uh, yeah, I wasn't kidding when I said I was obsessed with it.

What are some neat Diablo Clones I missed?
IF YOU CAN'T TELL I tried my best to get as many as I could, but maybe even nearly 40 minutes isn't enough. We're working hard over here. I hope you enjoyed this video! Probably be 2ish weeks before the next one as I wanna get some Soul Hackers 2 time in but until then, PLEASE enjoy this!

No Bards Tale? Boooh! Shame!

I think Rogue, which is a very old DOS game could qualify as the oldest possible Diablo clone there is. Project Zomboid also has a umique mechanic to it that is both attractive and repulsive at the same time.

Hexplore and The Broken Land. I actually played these games back in the day because my Pentium 1 PC couldnt do better.

Dungeon Runners was pretty fun. Hilarious seeing people run around with giant pizza cutters as weapons. Bummer the servers went down though.

One of my favourite Diablo clones back in the day was Dungeon siege, I'm surprised you didn't mention it given how popular it was

I was going to reply with this too. I had tons of fun with 1 and 2. I had tried playing them a couple of years ago though, but they haven't aged so well.
