Turn It Up
Ted Nugent Lyrics

(Instrumental Interlude)

Hey good lookin'
What you got cookin'
I need it on a Saturday night

Don't know if I fall
In a rock n' roll hall
That sound is just what I like

So turn it up, turn it up, make it louder than hell
Turn it up, turn it up, make it ring like a bell

I know what I like
I got to turn it up tonight
Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, louder, louder

Oh my god lock and load
The stage is like a wall of sound
What I need
To help blow the walls down

Turn it up, turn it up, make it louder than hell
Turn it up, turn it up, make it ring like a bell

I know what I like
I got to turn it up tonight
Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, louder, louder, louder, yeah

(Instrumental Interlude)

Oh my god lock and load
The stage is like a wall of sound
What I need
To help blow the walls down

Turn it up turn it up make it louder than hell
Turn it up turn it up make it ring like a bell
I know what I like
I got to turn it up tonight
Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, louder, louder, louder, yeah

(Instrumental Interlude)

So, turn it up, turn it up, make it louder than hell
Turn it up, turn it up, make it ring like a bell
I know what I like
I got to turn it up tonight
Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, louder, louder, louder, yeah

(Instrumental Interlude)

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah

Yeah, yeah
Yeah............

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Ted Nugent's song "Turn It Up" reflect a passion for rock and roll and the desire for loud and powerful music. The singer addresses an unknown person, possibly a DJ or a band, asking for their music on a Saturday night. He doesn't care if it's inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame; as long as the sound is what he likes, it's all good.

The chorus of the song repeats the title "Turn It Up" with the lines "make it louder than hell" and "make it ring like a bell." These lines are an expression of the singer's desire for loud and powerful music that shakes the walls ("blow the walls down"). The instrumental interludes that separate the verses and the choruses also emphasize the power and energy of the music.

Overall, the lyrics to "Turn It Up" reflect the essence of rock and roll - loud, powerful, and unapologetically passionate. Nugent's guitar work in the instrumental sections adds to the intensity of the song and adds weight to the message of the lyrics.

Nah Ted is a hack ,don't get me wrong I like his first two albums ,but he literally shat himself to avoid drafting in Vietnam the complete opposite of badass.

that song really fit the scene so well when Merle was going in the feeder building sniping Governor's men while the walkers he lured in "Fast and Loose" the scene before devoured them! Michael Rooker even picked those songs himself. He left the show and is still a legend, and Merle died a hero...

If this was the last song I heard before I died I could die happy.

my dad told me his band back in the day was playing at his high school's dance and the faculty told them they were playing too loud, naturally. of course they didn't take that too lightly so they played this one next. they couldn't even finish the song before they were unplugged and tossed out.

cheesy but gold in my opinion.

+mtndewman1022 Dude, that's hilarious! Your dad's awesome for playing this after being told his band is "too loud."
