We start by giving a big shout-out to all the pastors and preachers who devoted their lives to teaching and guiding us on the right path. They took on the burden of ensuring that we were reached and taught every aspect of faith.

We move on to acknowledge the older women in our lives, like Big Mama, Madeea, and Granny Mae, who stood by us and prayed for us through every phase of our faith journey. They were the rocks that we could hold on to when everything else seemed uncertain.

As a young child, going to Sunday school was just another place where I could goof off and act like a clown with my friends. My main focus at that time was trying to fit in and be cool, rather than truly understanding or loving the faith.

See I grew up thinking that church was for the preacher until I met brothers who wanted to reach us and teach us
I had always thought that church was all about the preacher and that I was just a passive observer. However, I later met other believers who showed me that it was my responsibility to learn and grow in my faith.

How to study our Bibles to see what it means and show Christianity isn't just about what it brings
Those brothers taught me the importance of studying the Bible and understanding what it meant. They also emphasized that Christianity isn't just about receiving blessings or rewards, but about building a relationship with God.

But sadly there are those who live opposite scripture, Christians to the public who muddy up the picture
Unfortunately, there are some self-proclaimed Christians who do not live according to the teachings of the Bible. They give a negative image to the public about what it truly means to follow Christ.

Cause for too long cats like Kells and Maze been the spokesmen all the while the public see us as a joke man
For too long, people like R. Kelly and Maze have been the face of Christianity in the public eye, resulting in the public seeing us as a joke. This is a sad reality that needs to change.

So this song's for the true shepherds who prove selfless whose aim is to aid the true helpless
This song is dedicated to the selfless true shepherds who truly care for their flock and strive to help those who are truly helpless.

I mean brothers like Spurgeon and Piper, Tom Nelson, John Edwards, brothers who make disciples
We give credit to influential pastors like Spurgeon and Piper, as well as Tom Nelson and John Edwards, who not only lead their own congregation but also strive to make disciples of others.

Those who because of Ezekiel 34 shepherd the flocks as a true pastor of the Lord
These pastors and leaders embody the type of leadership described in the book of Ezekiel, where the shepherd is genuinely concerned for the well-being of the flock under his care.

I was a hardhead growing up in Buzzard Root, Texas where the girls was fast acting and the men would plex us
I was once a stubborn and rebellious youth growing up in a tough environment in Buzzard Root, Texas, where the culture was full of fast-living girls and tough men who challenged us.

Where nobody seemed to care so my cousins was reckless, but from moms and Madeea there was more that was expected
In this environment, it often felt like no one cared about our well-being, causing some of my cousins to become reckless. However, our moms and grandmothers expected more from us and instilled in us a sense of hope based on our faith in God.

From their perspective life wasn't over they all had a sense of hope that was based on Jehovah and more over
Despite the tough circumstances we were facing, our moms and grandmothers held on to hope for the future, based on their faith in God and His promises for their lives.

They knew the life to come, they had a love for their people based on Christ the Son
They had an understanding of the eternal life to come, and their love for their people was based on their faith in Jesus Christ.

And as I write this song I can remember many times I left home mama crying just wishing I'd try Him
Looking back now, as I write this song, I remember the many times that I left home and caused my mother to cry, wishing that I would give my faith a chance.

Well I tried Him mama and I kept Him too I praise God that Madeea that was was praying me through
Thanks to the prayers and encouragement of my family, I did give my faith a chance, and I am grateful that I did. Madeea, in particular, prayed for me and helped me along the way.

True examples from the Father that even if we're martyred our faith should never falter
Examples of true faith from those who have gone before us remind us that even if we were to face persecution or even martyrdom, we should never let our faith falter.

I pray we trust in the Father like Jacob and Joseph, true faith hall of famers like David and Moses
We should aspire to have the kind of faith that was exemplified by Jacob, Joseph, David, and Moses - true legends of the faith.

And I praise God for my present day models, from the Columbine daughters to my spiritual fathers
We should also look up to contemporary role models of the faith, such as the victims of the Columbine shooting, as well as our own spiritual fathers who guide us along the way.

Thank you God for Dhati, Keynon, LeCrae, and Sho, Godly men that's an example of which way to go
We are grateful for the examples of modern-day leaders like Dhati, Keynon, LeCrae, and Sho, who are examples of how to follow and live out the faith.
