I also wanted to tell you that I live in Utah and my older sister was friends with Debra Kent. Fairview Canyon is a steep and beautiful place. This is the location that they found her knee cap. Every July my family goes there for a reunion. And every July we search for the rest of her remains. We also believe there were other bodies dumped there.

John Evans Alabama old sparky apparently took 14 minutes ( 3 separate 2 minute jolts ) to die that left Evans body charred and smoldering. In another case after a 2 minute surge on old sparky and waiting 6 minutes for his body to cool down to check for a heart beat, guess what still alive another longer jolt. Witnesses say he struggled to breathe for 8 minutes before the final jolt killed him. The list of botched executions are long.

Some of his victims were mutilated. He cut off their heads, and performed oral sex, with them. So, very sad, and horrific. I read that his grandpa was his father. I agree 100%. This guy was rotten to the core. He's been compared to Dahmer, but at the very least, Dahmer knew he was screwed up in his head. He made a full confession after he was caught. He didn't fight back when he was attacked. He didn't care if he lived or died cuz he knew he was screwed up. Bundy on the other hand, spent every day up to that very last day trying to make deals so he could stay alive longer. He'd offer to help the authorities find more of his victims if they would delay his execution. The point is, Bundy did this only for himself - he could have cared less about giving the grieving families peace of mind. Ted Bundy deserved his fate.

Dahmer and others are dispatched more quickly in Gen pop, costing tax payers far less than the death penalty. Even those who live longer in Gen pop cost far less than all of the appeals. Plus, innocent people are sentenced to death and to me, that is unconscionable.

Every step was explained to him, he could see that he was not alone, that in his last minutes there were people there that he knew cared for him to reassure him. He could even choose somebody to follow him through. He was Alaska first serial killer and he killed my high school girlfriend Lori King and 3 other women.
For a while the Alaska State Police had me as a suspect! I blamed them for interfering with my grief.

My mother almost ended up one of Teds victims. She was just leaving a music hall in Bountiful Utah when bundy approached her, he crossed the street from where he was stood leaned up against his VW bug. She was having trouble starting her own VW Bug, Ted having removed the distributor cap. He said "hey having trouble? I've got a VW Bug, mind if I take a look?" he had a cast on 1 arm. My mom got a really bad feeling about the guy and moved to the other side of the bug and said "no its OK my dad is on his way, (a lie) he was in the Navy and he is good with his hands." Ted stood there a moment, looking around and then said "ok bye" and walked back to his bug, as he drove away my mom could see that there was no passenger seat in his bug.

I feel so sad for the victims and their loved ones, a sadness that can not repair the damage this man inflicted on so many. I also feel very angry he was able to escape twice and commit more atrocious acts. He didn't deserve to live or remain alive on death row for so long. Why we allowed him so much compassion and care towards his preparation for death, a pastor to counsel him and comfort him in his final hours, I don't know. He didn't deserve that generosity in my view, as he never afforded any similar compassion to any of his victims. He made sure they suffered horrendously, life is very unjust. He went to his death with people gathering around him, offering him support, tenderness and understanding. Oh how this feels so wrong to me when you think of his poor victims. The only thing that bothers me about Ted's execution is there are so many missing women that I'm convinced he was responsible for that he might've given information about if they had agreed to postpone his date with the chair. It was important for the families of the victims, so I believe it was important to continue to at least try until he refused to give anymore information about his crimes. I understand why they went ahead with it though, and he deserved to suffer much more than he did.

I see from your comment maybe why they kept him alive so long, so that he might admit to other murders and therefore give the families involved some peace and closure. You are right that, that would give huge relief to those left wondering if their daughters had indeed been Ted's victims also. But there is a saying, never negotiate with terrorists, and he didn't deserve to live in my view after being positively identified as the killer of so many which were proven. But if my child were missing and it may have been him who were responsible, I too understand that a stay of execution might help me to come to terms with my terrible loss. I'm British and our death penalty was abolished in early 1970s, as a young person at the time and having been bought up a Christian, I felt it was the right thing, but my views have changed over time and I now wholeheartedly believe that multiple murderers should be executed for their acts. The UK is very lenient and we'd gain by taking a leaf out of the USA's book. Ted was obviously mentally twisted but that isn't a reason to keep him alive. Taxpayers pay for keeping people like this alive, is it right that their victims families and friends have to bear this horrible reality, that they are paying to keep alive the very people who so callously took the lives of their precious daughters? It's not just about the money to keep these serial killers alive, it's about true justice and moral rights of those families.

That's the way the system works in death penalty states no one is special on death row and we don't pick and choose who gets special treatment. I wouldn't call death row some kind of haven living in a cell 23 hours a day with death to think about day in and day out that's a severe punishment in itself and we don't lower our selves to the same standards of vicious killers. It's like what Jesus said..do unto others as you would have them do unto you, that's what separates us from them even when they're sentenced to die. Everyone is entitled to so many appeals when they run out the subject is executed.

I really only knew the surface of his depravity until listening to this presentation. I didn’t know he stalked his victims or took them to his apartment. I think the whole trial was a joke, why was he allowed to represent? He’s not a lawyer and everytime he walked in the courtroom he’s smiling or laughing why? Is it funny a child and young beautiful smart woman were murdered? He mocked the system and everyone in that room should of been appalled by his behaviour.
