Do I Look Worried
Tedeschi Trucks Band Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Back in the day when I lied
We'd always fight
Now here you are fooling 'round
Out every night
I don't have to take it anymore
And I'm tired of always keeping score
All I'm saying
Do I look worried to you?
Oh, do I look worried?

Smacked in the face
Such a disgrace
You were wrong

I try it again
Stay 'till the end
But how long?

And we've been here so many times
And I know you've feed me so many lines
All I'm saying
Do I look worried to you?
Oh, do I look worried?
Oh, worried to you
Oh, 'cause I ain't worried

Fool me once or twice you know they'll say
Shame on you
But now that I'm done with the math
Here's what I'll do

I'll find my way to an open door
'Cause it's not the same as it was before
All I'm saying
Do I look worried to you?
Oh, do I look worried?
Oh, worried?
Oh, 'cause I ain't worried
Lord, 'cause I ain't worried
You better, you better be worried
Oh, worried, worried, worried, worried
Worried, worried

I Ain't gonna take it

Anymore
Oh

Overall Meaning

The Tedeschi Trucks Band's song "Do I Look Worried" is a song about a relationship on the rocks. The singer in this song is fed up with their partner's infidelity and their constant lies. The song contains themes of betrayal, shame, and the desire for freedom. The lines, "Back in the day when I lied/We'd always fight/Now here you are fooling 'round/Out every night" set the stage for the rest of the song.

The singer acknowledges that they have tried to make things work in the past, but their partner has continuously fed them lies. They seem to have had enough and are contemplating leaving the relationship. Lines such as "Fool me once or twice you know they'll say/Shame on you/But now that I'm done with the math/Here's what I'll do" show that the singer has reached a breaking point and is ready to move on.

The repeated lines, "Do I look worried to you?" and "Oh, 'cause I ain't worried," convey a sense of defiance and confidence. The singer is no longer willing to tolerate their partner's behavior, and they are unapologetic about their decision to leave. Overall, the song is a powerful anthem that speaks to anyone who has been in a toxic relationship and had the strength to walk away.

The thing that always gets me about Derek's playing is his pocket. He knows right where he should be in the song as a whole, he can dominate with his leads but then back down and play some of the best rhythm work. True legend.

Mark Allen

He is great band leader.

Justin A

He can also always find his actual pocket to quickly switch from slide to no slide 😉

LEAFYANKEE65 AMEN !😎!

He plays so much like Duane Allman, it's scary. I saw him come out on stage and play with the Allman Brothers when he was 10 yrs. old, and he was just as amazing then !!!

Kurtland

This band has the greatest vocalist chick since Bonnie Raight, and one of the best lead guitarists I've heard, since Skydog and Dicky Betts
