No one can save us our time has come to pay
Destroying anything that's standing in its way
Nothing can stop it won't see another day
With communications down
No one will hear our cries
On this forbidden planet is where we'll die
No one can save us our time has come to pay
Destroying anything that's standing in its way
No one can stop it won't see another day
With communications down
No one will hear our cries
On this forbidden planet is where we'll die
With communications down
No one will hear our cries
On this forbidden planet is where we'll die
It's where we'll die
We did it to ourselves
The lyrics to Teenage Bottlerocket's song "Forbidden Planet" tell a story of a group of people who were warned about a particular planet but chose to ignore it and explore it anyway. As they land on the planet, they realize that they made a grave mistake as they come across a force that is determined to destroy anything that stands in its way and won't see another day. With the communications down, they have no way of communicating with anyone and are left stranded on the forbidden planet, where they will die. The lyrics highlight the consequences of ignoring warnings and taking unnecessary risks, leading to one's doom.
Furthermore, the lyrics also suggest a broader message about the consequences of human actions and the impact on the environment. It can be interpreted as a warning against destroying one's planet through environmental degradation and the consequences that follow.
