Te confundistes y me heristes
Estamos saborioco el negro saoco, negro saoco
In Tego Calderón's song, Mil Cosas, the rapper talks about being undervalued and misunderstood. He mentions that his critics have been chewing on his work for years, and that they should be sharing the spotlight with him. He acknowledges that people may think he's crazy, but he compares his truths to Father Amaro's honest and truthful ways. Tego then refers to himself as a "grafitero confinado" which can be interpreted as him feeling confined or limited in his artistic expression. He goes on to say that he sells his art with a purpose to the pioneers, who understand him and his work. He also identifies with the misunderstood and ostracized people in society, who he refers to as the "abueguembes." In the chorus, Tego sheds light on the fact that people are good at meddling in other people's lives, but when it comes to their own lives, they have yet to accomplish anything.
In the second verse, Tego addresses those who boast about things they don't have or can't offer. He points out that people may hate you to your face, but praise you behind your back in hopes of benefiting from you in the future. Tego describes himself as someone who lives in a modern world with an old soul, and who has suffered a bit in life. He warns against wolves in sheep's clothing, and how they are often found in unexpected places. He also states that he would never rap about anything he hasn't lived or experienced himself. Tego goes on to say that he is the heir to a "basurero," and that this song is dedicated to those in power who think they know everything, but are actually clueless about what's really happening. The rapper finishes the song by saying that the world is changing, but he is still standing strong, and his music will always speak the truth.
