They are known for their emotional live performances and have won over audiences in The Netherlands and beyond.
Along the years, the band completed no less than five U.S. and four Canadian tours, as well as gigs in France, Spain and the U.K. They performed at festivals such as SXSW, CMJ, In The City (UK), CMW and NXNE. SPARKLE
Templo Diez Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Light a match, catch your breath
Dawn's above us, it'll wait
No one loved us, no one cared
Just park the car…
Get a life, take a stand,
Oh it worked, for a while
Oh I wish you could be heard
Close to me, lay your head
Let me talk, lift you up, if you like…
Watch the lights, how they raise
Turn the clocks, twenty blades
Look at you, look at them
Think of us, how we're spent
There's a way, right ahead,
Just one way, right ahead…
Spark a light, spark a light, spark a light…………
The song "Sparkle" by Templo Diez is a mixture of melancholy and hope. The opening lines suggest that the singer is driving somewhere and stops to light a match, perhaps to light a cigarette or to get a better look at something. The dawn is above them, and the singer seems to be acknowledging that time is passing and they are not where they want to be in life. The line "No one loved us, no one cared" is particularly poignant, suggesting that the singer may feel alone or ignored in the world.
The next verse switches to a more upbeat tone, with the singer urging someone to "get a life" and "take a stand". They express the desire for this person to be heard, perhaps suggesting that they feel unheard themselves. The chorus repeats the phrase "spark a light" several times, which could be interpreted as a call to action, to take control of one's life and make something happen.
The final verse paints a picture of the world around them, with the lights and clocks moving forward. The singer encourages the listener to "look at you, look at them" and to reflect on how they've spent their time so far. They suggest that there's a way ahead, but only one way. The song ends with a final plea to "spark a light", to create something new and meaningful.
