1. Tenfold (real name: Tineke Hussaarts) is a singer-songwriter from the town of Emmeloord, The Netherlands. A graduate of the Enschede Conservatorium, she started releasing material in 2014. After a string of singles and two EPs (2014 and 2016), February 2021 saw the release of her long overdue full-length début album, Reply To All.
2. Tenfold is a hardcore band from Connecticut, United States, belonging to the wave of mid-1990s 'CTHC' bands. They put out a split 7-inch with Sum Of All Fears (another classic CTHC band) on Bridge Nine Records (B9's first release, when they were still based in Glastonbury, CT) and released several singles on B9 thereafter.
3. Tenfold is (or was?) a rock band from Sacramento, United States. Transcending the traditional sounds of Sacramento rock, Tenfold stands out as one of the city's finest talents. With an unyeilding ability to hook listeners in with rhythmic basslines, articulate guitar riffs, melodic vocals and driving drumbeats, Tenfold manages to not only use the familiar undertones of rock that listeners crave, but also speckles their sound with an almost dreamlike quality. The end result is music that is both fiery and yet soothing, jagged at one moment and soft at the next. With a new re-release of their sophomore effort "Un Animo," old tracks from the original release such as "Breathless" get a new twist while the others get a little fine-tuning. Songs such as "Liquid" and "Brand New Me" show a considerable growth from their predecessors from the band's self titled debut, yet at the same time echo an underlying style that the band has managed to grasp as their own.
4. Tenfold is a New York City electronic musician.
Part Of Me
Tenfold Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Don't look back
You're passing on
Where you're at
What it is
You through me
What i feel
Is what you leave
This is what i notice
This is what i see
This is what i notice
When you are a part of me
Different things
Different views
Picking up
Part of you
I can't relate
You through me
Holding on
Til it's gone
What have you done to me
What have you now done
The lyrics to Tenfold's song "Part of Me" reflect the experience of feeling like you're losing a part of yourself through a relationship with someone else. The opening lines, "Moving forward, don't look back, you're passing on where you're at," suggest a sense of forward momentum and growth, but also a feeling of leaving something behind. The repetition of the phrase "you through me" reinforces the idea that the other person is exerting an influence on the singer, possibly in ways that they don't fully understand or control.
The chorus, which repeats the phrase "this is what I notice/see/feel when you are a part of me," underscores the sense of entwined identities and shared experience that the singer is struggling to come to terms with. The lines "different things, different views, picking up part of you," suggest that even though the two people may not see eye to eye on everything, the connection between them remains strong. The final lines, "what have you done to me, what have you now done," express a sense of frustration and hurt at the fact that the other person has changed the singer in some way that they can't reverse or control.
Overall, "Part of Me" is a poignant meditation on the complex emotions that can arise in a relationship, particularly when one person feels like they're losing a part of themselves to the other.
