Tenishia's story started in 2004 when Joven and Cyprian met in a small bar and discussed their musical interests. This led them to build their own studio and to start producing music together. Both of them had been experimenting with their own productions, and Joven had been Djing for a couple of years. Add to this Cyprian’s perfect ear for good melodies – due to a classical music background which included playing the piano and other musical instruments – and the timing was right for them to join forces. Tenishia was the name they chose.
Their efforts quickly got noticed by Voodoo Vinyl Records, Holland, and this led them to their first remixes for foreign artists. March 12, 2005 is a day that Joven and Cyprian will never forget. On that day Tenishia performed in public for the first time. Their live show was greatly received, reaching the maximum limit of bookings till the end of the year in just few weeks. It was Malta’s most-booked live show for 2005.
They have also performed in major events around Malta and Gozo including MTV, Sunset Sundays, among others. Interviews on television, radio, the internet and in magazines and newspapers gained them even more recognition.
J Joy, one of Malta 's top DJs took notice of their talent and signed them to his record label, Real Muzik, and they have become his official producers. In the summer of 2005, in collaboration with J Joy, Tenishia produced a track for the world famous Jan Johnston. This was the track, ‘Rush,” which Johnston worked on in Tenishia‘s studio in Malta. It received a great response around the world and was played in the Tiesto.com event in December 2005, as well as on several radio stations around the world by various important names in the business.
Working with such a great talent was a huge stepping stone for Tenishia and this led them to produce other tracks with names such as Marcella Woods and Kirsty Hawkshaw. Tenishia are also supported by top notch artists like Mike, Push, Solar Stone and Deep Blue Recordings, Emjay from Perfecto records, Johan Gielen, Matt Darey and many others.
