3. Tess - swedish eurodance artist,
She was born on the 13th of February 1978. She grew up in Solna, in the North of Stockholm where she lived with her mother until she was 15 years old. She studied French language for three years. At the age of 15 Tess gave up her studies and got the opportunity to start dancing at different night-clubs all around Sweden. She also worked during the day at the Sheraton Hotel. She took the chance since music and dance are her big passions. Tess' taste in music is very broad and she gets off on anything from classical music to heavy house-techno. She hasn't set any goals in music business, but wants to live one day at a time.
She was born in Stockholm in 1978 but her exotic looks reveals her origin from India/Finland on her fathers side and Belgium/Sweden on her mothers. To her merits one can count danceacts with Dr Alban , Rob ´n Raz and Drömhus (Dreamhouse). She has also sung backup vocals and danced with Basic Element. Then in 1998 she became La Cream's voice. Their first single Château d´amour was releasedat Dr. Records / Arcade Music. The single became a hit and they decided to go on. The second single, You, was La Cream's first commercial hit and it sold Gold in both Sweden and Norway.
She likes the music she's doing: "If you don't like the music you're doing, you can't do it with your heart. Then you can't perform it with the right feeling. When being out I although like a bit harder music and not euro that much. La Cream is dance music and I love dance." Tess likes the current artists: "I like Madonna. She's a great artist, who's done music for years. I like new Swedish artists like Markoolio, he's the funniest artist in the world. Antiloop is good. I listen to all kinds of music."
In 2000, after about 160 shows with La Cream, Tess left the project. "It was a fantastic time", says Tess, who during these two years got the opportunity to go to a lot of interesting places and to meet a lot of exciting people. She released her first solo single, Justify My Love, which sounds just like La Cream's tracks, and was in fact composed and produced by Ari Lehtonen from La Cream. Tess' forthcoming album was composed and produced by David Kreuger, Jörgen Elofsson, C&N Project, Juha Myllylä and Jorge Vasconcelo, who is the former member of La Cream.
The next single is entitled Viva L'amor. On the 20th of May Tess participated on NRJ Spring Break Party in Kungsträdgården (Stockholm). On the 15th-16th of June Tess performed at the Power Summer Party (On the 15th in Gothenburg/Liseberg and on the 16th in Stockholm/Gröna Lund). On the 23rd of October she released her debut album.
2002 : Tess' voice was featured by the SM-Trax project, and the single was released in Germany.
2004 : Tess is back for good with a new single called The Second You Sleep. It peaked to #12 in August in the Swedish charts. A very hot video was recorded...

In My Dreams
Tess Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A hundred thousand dreams gone by
Have you ever wished upon a star?
And is it really far from where we are?
Underneath it all, I've seen
The picture-perfect memories
But there's nowhere left to run
When we've finally begun believing
Maybe it's time
Starting all over and feeling alive
So, I'll hold my breath and we'll take a chance
Come stand in the rain and we'll learn how to dance
'Cause sometimes it's all meant to be
I believe
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
Take my hand
We'll fly away to never-never land
Where there's no more hurt or pain
And only love can break the chains
Like a flower that's grown so high
Sometimes we need to reach and touch the sky
'Cause there's nothing we can't do
I believe it's up to me and you
So, tell me
What If I fall?
Maybe it's time
Starting all over and feeling alive
So, I'll hold my breath and we'll take a chance
Come stand in the rain and we'll learn how to dance
'Cause sometimes it's all meant to be,
I believe (I believe)
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
If you ever need your wings just close your eyes and dream
A journey to a place unknown is far but I believe
That sometimes we'll fall
But I know it's time
To face all the fears that I've held long inside
What If I fall?
Maybe it's time
Starting all over and feeling alive
So, I'll hold my breath and we'll take a chance
Come stand in the rain and we'll learn how to dance (and we'll learn how to dance)
'Cause sometimes it's all meant to be
I believe (I believe)
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
The lyrics of "In My Dreams" by Tess explore the theme of hope, perseverance, and the power of dreams. The song starts off with the desire to escape reality and soar above the limitations of a mundane existence. The idea of wishing upon a star is introduced, suggesting a longing for something greater than what is currently experienced. Tess wonders if achieving these dreams is possible or if they are too far out of reach.
As the song progresses, the notion of seeking refuge in memories and nostalgic moments arises. The memories are described as "picture-perfect," symbolizing the desire to hold onto joyful experiences. However, the lyrics also acknowledge that there comes a point when running away is no longer an option. This signifies an acknowledgment of the need to confront reality and start believing in the possibilities that lie ahead.
The chorus reflects a sense of empowerment and willingness to take risks. Tess contemplates the consequences of failure but decides that it is time to start over and embrace the feeling of being alive. Holding her breath and taking a chance signifies the determination to step outside of her comfort zone. The metaphor of standing in the rain and learning how to dance suggests the idea of embracing challenges and finding joy even in difficult circumstances. Tess believes that sometimes, everything falls into place and that these moments are destined to occur.
The second verse builds on the initial theme of flying and escaping to a blissful place. The lyrics emphasize the yearning for a sanctuary where pain and suffering do not exist, and only love can break the chains that hold one back. The metaphor of a flower growing high reinforces the idea that sometimes it is necessary to stretch oneself and aim for greatness. Tess expresses confidence in the belief that there is no limit to what can be achieved when determination is combined with self-belief.
The bridge of the song encourages embracing dreams and trusting in oneself. It suggests that when one closes their eyes and dreams, they can discover the strength to overcome challenges and embark on the unknown journey that lies ahead. Tess acknowledges that there may be moments of failure or setbacks along the way, but it is time to face fears and confront the obstacles that have been kept hidden for too long.
Overall, "In My Dreams" is a song that conveys the idea that dreams have the power to uplift, inspire, and provide a sense of purpose. It encourages taking chances, embracing challenges, and believing in oneself, emphasizing the potential to fly when immersed in the power of one's dreams.

Let me fly
Allow me to soar and explore new possibilities
A hundred thousand dreams gone by
Countless aspirations and desires have passed
Have you ever wished upon a star?
Have you ever yearned for something beyond our reach?
And is it really far from where we are?
Is it truly distant from our current reality?
Underneath it all, I've seen
Beneath the surface, I have witnessed
The picture-perfect memories
The flawless recollections
But there's nowhere left to run
Nowhere to escape to
When we've finally begun believing
After we have started having faith
What If I fall?
What if I stumble or fail?
Maybe it's time
Perhaps it is the moment
Starting all over and feeling alive
Commencing anew and experiencing vitality
So, I'll hold my breath and we'll take a chance
Therefore, I will hold my breath and embrace risk
Come stand in the rain and we'll learn how to dance
Join me in the rainfall as we discover the art of movement
'Cause sometimes it's all meant to be
Occasionally, events unfold as they are destined
I believe
I have faith
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
I can soar when I immerse myself in these reveries
Take my hand
Accept my offer of guidance
We'll fly away to never-never land
We will soar to a utopian realm
Where there's no more hurt or pain
Where suffering and anguish cease to exist
And only love can break the chains
Where only love possesses the power to liberate
Like a flower that's grown so high
Similar to a flower that has flourished in great heights
Sometimes we need to reach and touch the sky
At times, we must strive to reach and experience the extraordinary
'Cause there's nothing we can't do
Because there is no task beyond our capabilities
I believe it's up to me and you
I trust that it depends on both of us
So, tell me
So, inform me
If you ever need your wings just close your eyes and dream
If you ever desire liberation, simply shut your eyes and envision
A journey to a place unknown is far but I believe
Embarking on an unfamiliar voyage may be distant, but I have faith
That sometimes we'll fall
That occasionally we will stumble or falter
But I know it's time
Yet I understand it is the moment
To face all the fears that I've held long inside
To confront all the fears I have harbored for a prolonged period
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
I can soar when I immerse myself in these reveries
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
I can soar when I immerse myself in these reveries
I can fly when I'm in these dreams
I can soar when I immerse myself in these reveries
