Nocturne
TesseracT Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Climb (you're dehydrated)
Fly (your wings are jaded)
Cry (you're enervated)
Die (for what you believe in)
Try (you've nearly made it)
Why?

You're the plague within my dreams
Soaring through an atmosphere of an adequate lack of strength
And we're responsible
The truth is that will ends here
Denial's an impairment of your fear
Can we save us from ourselves?
Can we save this from ourselves?

You can break through, wake me up, tell me it's gone
False hope sells lies, I won't buy we are still one
Let's attempt escape, melancholia will feed
We'll admit defeat, the vox popular will cease
The air is thickening, we are drifting

You're the plague within my dreams
Soaring through an atmosphere of an adequate lack of strength
And we're responsible (we're responsible)
The truth is that will ends here
Denial's an impairment of your fear
Can we save us from ourselves?
Can we save this from ourselves?
This is the savior and its form

What's done is done
One more second chance would be enough
Only on the brink can we see so clearly
Yeah!

Wake me up!
Wake me up!

Wake me up!
Wake me up!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to TesseracT's song "Of Mind - Nocturne" depict a struggle to overcome one's limitations and fears in order to achieve a greater purpose or belief. The opening lines urge the listener to push through exhaustion and past failures, even when hope seems lost. This sentiment is echoed throughout the song, with lines like "You can break through, wake me up, tell me it's gone / False hope sells lies, I won't buy we are still one" and "Only on the brink can we see so clearly."

The song also touches on themes of responsibility and accountability. The lines "And we're responsible / The truth is that will ends here" suggest that our actions (or lack thereof) have consequences and that our willpower can only take us so far. Denial is portrayed as an obstacle to progress: "Denial's an impairment of your fear / Can we save us from ourselves?" The chorus repeats the question "Can we save this from ourselves?" as if to say that we have the power to change our circumstances if we are willing to face the truth about ourselves.

Overall, "Of Mind - Nocturne" encourages the listener to keep striving for improvement and to take ownership of their actions and beliefs in order to make a positive impact.

I’m currently struggling with alcoholism and the (even unintentional) allegory to being lost on the moors and finally finding a road.. and the little look the actor gives as to how silly it was in the first place.. and then taking a big deep breath.. I can relate.. tesseract for the win 🎉

@ShipMonster

Ashe is probably one of the greatest singers I've ever seen live. One of the few in the metal community who can command a room with only his voice and no instruments. I got to see him do warm ups... That was eye opening.

The ambience of this album is in a league of its own
