Background Music
Time Code
We're wishing NOW.
We're hoping NOW.
We're trusting NOW.

The lyrics of Tetsuya Komuro's song "22世紀への架け橋" express a sense of wandering through the city, feeling caught up in the hustle and bustle of work while also experiencing moments of aimless encounters with acquaintances. The singer expresses a sense of envy towards the crowd of people around them, amidst the chaotic daily life that feels like it's being pushed around by the media from all sides. There is a mention of algorithms and geometric sequences that the singer doesn't understand, highlighting a feeling of being overwhelmed by the unpredictability of the future yet still holding onto hope for the present moment.
The mention of an unpredictable goal that seems to be expanding infinitely alludes to a sense of uncertainty and anticipation for what the 22nd century may hold. The singer wishes for a beautiful planet awaiting in the future, but also emphasizes the importance of being present in the programming of today, with a plea to be able to live a meaningful life and feel pride in being useful to others. The backdrop of background music embellishing time and getting lost in the chaos of life alludes to a desire for tranquility and reflection amidst the noise and confusion.
The imagery of black and white intersecting when one closes their eyes to inhale the air represents a moment of contemplation and a plea for peace within the turmoil. The singer expresses a longing to transcend the eternal, lonely nights of fear and solitude and step out into the world, leaving their mark on the era by making a difference to someone, someday. The idea of stopping all clocks to feel the time code suggests a desire to escape the constraints of time and truly immerse oneself in the present moment, embracing the wishes, hope, and trust that reside in the now.
Overall, the song "22世紀への架け橋" encapsulates themes of longing for a brighter future, navigating the complexities of modern life, and finding solace in the present moment amidst uncertainty and chaos. It conveys a message of resilience, hope, and the importance of seizing the opportunities and connections that come one's way while staying grounded in the ever-changing world around us.
