Asakura is reported to view Komuro as his "Sensei" or "Teacher".
In 1997, he started his overseas career with the remix of the theme music of the action movie "Speed 2: Cruise Control". Komuro is perhaps best known in the west for his collaboration with French keyboardist Jean Michel Jarre from 1998 to 2001.
These lyrics are from the song "Rever" by Tetsuya Komuro featuring the Japanese singer, songwriter and actress, Seiko Oomori. The lyrics talk about the beauty of dreams and how they can bring gifts to us. The opening lines convey that the images we see in dreams can be a gift, especially if they are cute, and can be softly delivered to us. The lyrics go on to suggest that dreams are hard to put into words and hence the singer requests that they be allowed to walk and explore the changing world unencumbered. The lyrics express an appreciation for how wonderful it feels to wander, explore and simply be.
The imagery in the lyrics is quite powerful. The song is infused with a sense of wonder, magic and open-ended possibilities. There is a suggestion that dreams can help us change and grow, and that they can bring a gift that is accessible to all. It's a song that celebrates the unknown and the mysterious, and portrays the world as something full of potential.
