Juraj Grezdo joins the band after splitting up with Nailed Nazarene. The name Bastard is changed to Fatal Infection and by the end of 1994 the demo Behind the Doors of Sorrow is recorded.
The old name doesn't fit the new material, so it's changed into Thalarion meaning the ancient city of mad poets and flying demons (see Lovecraft's story A White Ship). In March 1996 the first album Towards the Obscure Slumberland is released through Hallelujjah Prod..
The MCD Dominium Unfold (1996) for the US label Wild Rags Records has never been released.
Nevertheless in December 1998 the second album is released through Mighty Music. The Tales Of The Woods... Thus Was Written album is well received by the world metal scene.
Their third album Four Elements Mysterium is marked with 1998 Nela Horvathova's vocals. Nela has also done backing vocals on Tales Of The Woods... Thus was Written.
In November 2002 Mighty Music releases the fourth Thalarion album Tunes of Despondency. After the more gothic Four Elements Mysterium the band changes to a faster and more agressive music going closer to their debut album Towards the Obscure Slumberland.
In 2004 the fifth album Hellium is released. Now there are no keyboards or female vocals (Nela Horvathova is now in Disanchely). The new member Michal (guitar) joins the band and takes a great part in writing material.

My Bitter Overstrain
Thalarion Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I am very tired to continue on my way
Avoiding the other humans, living all alone
I am curious who will soften my grief, my dismay
The leaves are falling down to my feet
I am treading on them quite indifferent
My mind is free like a flight of a bird
The falling drops of rain are accompaning me
Along with the starless cloudy sky
Half-dead I am tumbling down on my knees
Asking the goddess Shiva for power, for stamina
Behold the sky and see the clouds crying
Keep your providential spirit, keep your brawn
Behold the ground in the sadness drowning
You ought to recover because the curtain is drawn
With open soul I am diving into my memories
They are grand but veiled by the sorrow
Now is the time to gather all my strength
Because I wish to live and see tomorrow
Behold the sky and see the clouds crying
Keep your providential spirit, keep your brawn
Behold the ground in the sadness drowning
You ought to recover because the curtain is drawn
Thalarion's song 'My Bitter Overstrain' is a melancholic, introspective reflection of a person struggling to keep going in life, despite feeling worn out and alone. The first stanza sets the mood of the song, with the singer walking alone in the rain, feeling tired and isolated from other humans. The second stanza uses the imagery of falling leaves and the freeing of the mind to emphasize the singer's inner struggle. Though they want to move forward, their body feels heavy and exhausted.
As the song progresses, the singer turns to the goddess Shiva for strength, symbolizing a desire for a higher power to help them overcome their fatigue and feelings of sadness. The final stanza conveys a sense of hope for the future, with the singer diving into their memories and finding strength to keep going. Through the repeated refrain of 'Behold the sky and see the clouds crying,' the song encourages listeners to persevere through difficult times.
Overall, 'My Bitter Overstrain' is a powerful portrayal of the human experience of struggling to keep going, while also finding meaning and hope in perseverance.
