Juraj Grezdo joins the band after splitting up with Nailed Nazarene. The name Bastard is changed to Fatal Infection and by the end of 1994 the demo Behind the Doors of Sorrow is recorded.
The old name doesn't fit the new material, so it's changed into Thalarion meaning the ancient city of mad poets and flying demons (see Lovecraft's story A White Ship). In March 1996 the first album Towards the Obscure Slumberland is released through Hallelujjah Prod..
The MCD Dominium Unfold (1996) for the US label Wild Rags Records has never been released.
Nevertheless in December 1998 the second album is released through Mighty Music. The Tales Of The Woods... Thus Was Written album is well received by the world metal scene.
Their third album Four Elements Mysterium is marked with 1998 Nela Horvathova's vocals. Nela has also done backing vocals on Tales Of The Woods... Thus was Written.
In November 2002 Mighty Music releases the fourth Thalarion album Tunes of Despondency. After the more gothic Four Elements Mysterium the band changes to a faster and more agressive music going closer to their debut album Towards the Obscure Slumberland.
In 2004 the fifth album Hellium is released. Now there are no keyboards or female vocals (Nela Horvathova is now in Disanchely). The new member Michal (guitar) joins the band and takes a great part in writing material.

Tunes of Despondency
Thalarion Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Where the goodness fights against the evilness
Crestfallen clouds are confirming their coolness
As they have forever lost their contriteness
Silent harmony is getting lost in a looseness
But it still radiates some special spookiness
Resolute melodies are gaining a spacious imperiousness
In kaleidoscopic whirl of sensual seediness
There's an ostensible cheerfulness concealing sadness
Placid tones are unconcernedly swimming in tediousness
Veiling the sorrowful epoch of tender-heartedness
All the atmosphere is abounding in deep softness
But the melodies are coalescing into abstrusness
Astounding mood attains the august slackness
Where the downcast tunes fade out in timelessness
In kaleidoscopic whirl of sensual seediness
There's an ostensible cheerfulness concealing sadness
Placid tones are unconcernedly swimming in tediousness
Veiling the sorrowful epoch of tender-heartedness
The lyrics of Thalarion's song "Tunes of Despondency" are an exploration of melancholy and sadness, expressed through the use of poetic language and a variety of musical textures. The opening lines describe a world of "celestial gloominess," where good and evil are in conflict and the clouds are crestfallen and no longer remorseful for their actions. The next lines describe a loss of harmony and the emergence of spookiness, as well as an imperiousness that is both gentle and gruff.
The middle section of the song speaks of a "kaleidoscopic whirl of sensual seediness," where apparent cheerfulness conceals sadness and placid tones swim unconcernedly in tediousness. This is a world that seems superficially bright and cheerful, but underneath hides a deeper emotional pain. The final lines describe an atmosphere of deep softness, but also abstruseness and a sense of timelessness, as the downcast tones fade out of existence.
Overall, "Tunes of Despondency" is a haunting exploration of melancholy and sadness, expressed through vivid language and a variety of musical textures. It is a song that invites the listener to contemplate the darker sides of human emotion and the complexities of the human condition.
