Money
Thanksgiving Lyrics

And I'm never coming out and ask you for a single thing
And I'll never huff and puff and blow down your house
I'm not the big bad wolf, just like a tiny little mouse
Or a clown or a little boy you talked about
I'm going to spend my life up this way
I'm going to spend my life up this way right in front of your eyes
I'm going to spend my life up this way
And I'll spend the coldest night under waterfalls
And watch the white water roll underneath
And I'll spend the hottest day laying in really big pile of hay
With somebody or another until I roll off
I'm going to spend my life up this way
I'm going to spend my life up mama right in front your eyes
I'm going to spend my life up
I'm going to spend my life up like a hundred bucks
I'm going to spend my life up
I'll spend my life up mama until I rise
Spend my life up
Spend my life up you guys
I'll spend my life up
The lyrics of Thanksgiving's song "Money" convey a sentiment of independence and contentment that comes from being self-reliant. The opening line "I'm gonna live outside of your locked doors happily" suggests the singer's desire to live apart from societal norms and institutions that limit personal freedom. The lines "And I'm never coming out and ask you for a single thing / And I'll never huff and puff and blow down your house" further emphasize this sense of self-sufficiency and the lack of desire for material possessions or power.
The reference to the "big bad wolf" and "tiny little mouse" conveys the idea that the singer does not seek to dominate or threaten others. Instead, they are content with their own company and do not feel the need to conform to societal expectations or pressures. The lines "I'm going to spend my life up this way / I'll spend my life up you guys until I die" suggest a sense of determination and dedication to this self-reliance, even in the face of potential loneliness or isolation.
Overall, the lyrics of "Money" express a sense of contentment and fulfillment that comes from living life on one's own terms, free from external expectations or obligations. It is a reminder that personal happiness and fulfillment do not necessarily come from external sources, such as money or power, but rather from the active choice to live a life that aligns with one's own values and desires.
