In 2005, The Adams released their self-titled debut album, featuring the singles "Konservatif" and "Waiting," both of which were also featured in the hit movie Janji Joni. Later in the year, Beni left to focus on his duties as drummer for The Upstairs, while Bimo moved to Bali to continue his studies. Karon ’N Roll guitarist Arfan (or Apoy) was drafted as bassist, Gigih Suryoprayogo Setiadi (alias Kiting) of It’s Different Class took over Bimo’s place behind the drumkit, and live keyboardist Retiara Haswidya Nasution (a.k.a Kaka) was promoted to full-time member.
In 2006, The Adams’ new line-up released v2.05, which expanded their old sound with more elaborate song structures and swirling five-part harmonies. With the hit singles "Halo Beni," "Hanya Kau" and "Selamat Pagi Juwita" and their electrifying live shows, The Adams have become one of Indonesia’s most exciting bands.
After a long hiatus in 2008 to work on other projects, The Adams are now back and ready to make more music and reconnect with their fans who have been awaiting their return.

But the words got in the way
Guess I'll keep on talking
'Til there's nothing left to say
I really made a mess of things
The way I sometimes do
Ain't that just like me?
I try to make things better
I try to play along
Guess I'll keep on trying to turn a right from wrong
I don't know how I screwed it up
Guess I want my cake and eat it too
Ain't that just like me? Yeah
Ain't that just like you?
Ain't that just like me? (just like me)
Ain't that just like me?
Ain't that just like you? (Ain't that just like you?)
Ain't that just like you? (just like you)
Ain't that just like me? (Ain't that just like me?)
Ain't that just like me? (Ain't that just like me?)
I really made a mess of things
The way I always do
Ain't that just like me?
Ain't that just like me?
Ain't that just like you?
Yeah, just like me and you
The Adams's song "Just Like Me" talks about the difficulty of expressing one's feelings to someone they care about. The singer tries to convey their feelings to someone but fails to do so as the words get in the way. The repetition of the phrase "Guess I'll keep on talking" suggests that the singer wants to keep trying until they can communicate their feelings effectively. They acknowledge their previous mistakes in the relationship and how they tend to mess up things. They try to make things better and turn wrongs into rights.
The chorus of the song highlights the similarity between the singer and the person they're talking to. "Ain't that just like me?" and "Ain't that just like you?" imply that both parties are similar and have their fair share of mistakes and regrets in the relationship. The repetition of this phrase in the chorus emphasizes the point that the singer and the other person might have miscommunication issues that cause them to misunderstand each other.
Overall, the lyrics of "Just Like Me" depict the struggle of expressing oneself in a relationship and the mistakes that can result from it. The song conveys a message of hope that even in difficult times, working towards understanding and communication can help mend relationships.
