In 2005, The Adams released their self-titled debut album, featuring the singles "Konservatif" and "Waiting," both of which were also featured in the hit movie Janji Joni. Later in the year, Beni left to focus on his duties as drummer for The Upstairs, while Bimo moved to Bali to continue his studies. Karon ’N Roll guitarist Arfan (or Apoy) was drafted as bassist, Gigih Suryoprayogo Setiadi (alias Kiting) of It’s Different Class took over Bimo’s place behind the drumkit, and live keyboardist Retiara Haswidya Nasution (a.k.a Kaka) was promoted to full-time member.
In 2006, The Adams’ new line-up released v2.05, which expanded their old sound with more elaborate song structures and swirling five-part harmonies. With the hit singles "Halo Beni," "Hanya Kau" and "Selamat Pagi Juwita" and their electrifying live shows, The Adams have become one of Indonesia’s most exciting bands.
After a long hiatus in 2008 to work on other projects, The Adams are now back and ready to make more music and reconnect with their fans who have been awaiting their return.

The Adams Lyrics

Penuh dengan ketidakpastian
Lebih mudah jika tak dipikirkan
Kita bisa membuat rencana
Untuk sekian tahun ke depan
Tapi percuma jika selesai di tengah jalan
Namun tiap kudengar namamu
Makin terbayang masa depanku
Dan yang 'ku harus lakukan
Saat aku dan kamu bicara
Tentang harapan dan cita-cita
Semua yang kita damba
Akan terasa seperti amat nyata
Kadang kita takkan mendapatkan
Yang diinginkan dan dimimpikan
Semua usaha hanya sia-sia
Namun tiap kudengar namamu
Makin terbayang masa depanku
Semakin jelas tujuan
Dan yang 'ku harus lakukan
Saat aku dan kamu bicara
Tentang harapan dan cita-cita
Semua yang kita damba
Akan terasa seperti amat nyata
Aku tak bisa menjanjikan surga
Atau bahagia untuk selamanya
Tetapi jika engkau terus percaya
Pasti akan ada jalan
Namun tiap kudengar namamu
Makin terbayang masa depanku
Semakin jelas tujuan
Dan yang 'ku harus lakukan
Dan di hariku yang paling gelap
Semoga aku akan mengingat
Bahwa ini sementara
Dan akan segera pergi dengan cepat
The lyrics to "Timur" by The Adams reflect on the uncertainty and fear that often comes with thinking about the future. The song acknowledges that it is easier to avoid thinking about the future, but also highlights the importance of planning and having goals. The lyrics suggest that even though plans may not always work out as expected, hearing the name of a loved one can give clarity and purpose. The song emphasizes the significance of conversations about hopes and dreams, and how they can make those desires feel more real. It acknowledges that sometimes we may not get what we want or what we dream of, and that our efforts may seem futile. However, the song leaves room for hope, suggesting that if we continue to believe and have faith, there will always be a way forward. The lyrics conclude with the reminder that even in the darkest days, it is important to remember that everything is temporary and will soon pass.
