For What It's Worth
The Air I Breathe Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

How Does It Feel To Know That Everything You Want Is Ours?
You Never Had It, And You Know You Never Will

You Always Said That This Would Never Be Worth It
For What It's Worth You'll Never Let This Go

[OH]
I Can't Believe
I Turned My Back And You Were Right There To Leech

I Can't Believe
I Turned My Back And You Were Right There To Leech

Let Them See
That You're A Product Of A
Foundation Built On Greed

I Will Make Them See
You Stand For Nothing
This Could Never Be
You Took What's Left Of Us

What's It Worth
To Walk This World Unknown
Believing You're The Chosen One?

What's It Worth
To Live This Life Alone
Convinced That You Will Be Someone?

You Know You're Worthless

We Will Be Everything We've Ever Dreamed
We Will Be Everything We've Ever Dreamed

So Keep Telling Yourself That Everything Will Be Fine
You Just Look Pathetic, You're Only Wasting Our Time
No One Cares About You, Your Story Has No Meaning
You Buried The Truth, But They Won't Keep Believing

I Will Make Them See
You Stand For Nothing
This Could Never Be
You Took What's Left Of Us

We Always Knew That It Would Come To This
Your Fucking Ego Never Made Things Easy

So Take A Breath And Let This All Sink In
You Selfish Fuck I Hope You Burn In Hell

Revisiting this album as a 25 almost 26 year old, my 15 year old self never really fully appreciated how, yes absolutely heavy and banger of an album this was, but how fucking clean the mix in the whole album was. You can hear everything clearly and equally, from the vocals, to guitars, to bass to drums. Gat damn I wish more bands had more cleaned up mix like this nowadays. And it’s such a little nitpick because good sounding music will always sound good of course if you let it slide, but a crisp, clear mix makes a world of a difference, and this album fucking aced that

Yes, dude! 100%! I’ve always been sensitive to song mixes, as well. I’ll never forget, this was the first song I ever listened to in my new 2012 Sonata. The car had an unbelievable sound system for the price, and I’ll never forget crankin’ the volume to feel that bass drop breakdown near the end of the track. Anyway, you’re right: I don’t think I’ve ever heard a better mix in a metalcore album.

Easily the worst mixed album (at least in metalcore/post-hardcore) is Sleeping with Sirens “With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear”. I’ve never heard a worse mix! It’s so tinny (among other things. . .)!

Now 38 years old and this album STILL gives me chills. So far ahead of their time sonically. I'll admit right now that I had forgotten just how badass this band was. Obviously most of us feel the same way and that makes me happy! These guys deserve every second.

@MSlick100

Honestly one of the best Metal bands I've heard my entire life, not only are their guitar and drumming completely insync and complex, but the meanings in all their songs closely relates to the heart break of a women; the beauty of it is that they don't sound like bitches complaining about their love life. These guys are the definition of poetry and true metal. I can't wait until their next album comes out.
