She just wants me to share her
It hasn't been this way before
She just wants me to dare her
The phone rings
And she screams
Stab my back
Walk on me
It never was enough to do
I can't get past her
Falling faster
True
It hasn't done a lot for you
And every time he held you close
Yeah, were you thinking of me
When I needed you the most
Well I hope that you're happy
The phone rings
And she screams
Stab my back
It's better when I bleed for you
Walk on me
It never was enough to do
I can't get past her
Falling faster
True
It's better when I bleed for you
I hope that love he gave you
Was just enough to save you
You nearly broke my heart
Just look at what you're tearing apart
Stab my back
It's better when I bleed for you
Walk on me
It never was enough to do
I can't get past her
Falling faster
True
It hasn't done a lot for you
It's better when I bleed for you
It never was enough to do
It hasn't done a lot for
"Stab My Back" is a song by The All-American Rejects from their album "Move Along". The song has a bitter and resentful theme of heartbreak and betrayal. The lyrics convey the singer's brokenness and his desire to make his ex-girlfriend suffer in turn. The first two lines of the song indicate that there has been a change in the relationship. The singer is now broken and lying on the floor while his partner is urging him to share something with her. He explains that this is the first time the relationship has been like this, and she is determined to get him to be daring.
The chorus of the song involves a phone call from the ex-girlfriend who is screaming at the singer to stab her back, indicating that she wants him to hurt her again. She feels that the pain caused by the singer hurting her is somehow better than him not showing any interest at all. The singer is trying to get over her, but he can't stop falling. He knows that the relationship hasn't really done anything for either of them, but he still can't let go. The bitterness in his tone is evident when he says that she never did enough for him, and walking on him was never enough either.
The bridge of the song has a tone of regret and longing, with the singer wondering if his ex-girlfriend ever thought of him while she was with someone else. He reveals that he needed her most during a specific time, but she wasn't there for him. The final chorus of the song reiterates the same desire for the singer to hurt his ex-girlfriend in turn. He hopes that the love she found with someone else was enough for her and that she didn't need anything else from him.
