We felt we had finally captured our sound, but the band was no more. JZ, Mark, and I had already been playing as The GasHounds, so our attention went there and a whole new batch of songs and recordings.
When JZ and I went through all our studio tapes from start to finish (1985-89), we revisited the thought we had long ago- can we capture our essential sound? We feel these recordings present the band as we always felt we should have been on record.
So, ladies and gentlemen, This Is The Alter Boys!

ABBRACCIA LA MORTE PERCHE' E' UN DONO LASCIA ANDARE LA VITA
ABBANDONA QUESTO TEMPO NIENTE PIU' SOFFERENZA TUTTO E' CALMA
LASCIATI ANDARE IL DOLORE E' ANDATO
The lyrics of The Alter Boys' song Docking Bay 94 hint at a cryptic and enigmatic message that requires interpretation. The first line, "What's wrong with him he looks dead," invokes images of death and morbidity. However, the next lines of the song, which are in Italian, reveal deeper insights. "Abbraccia la morte perché è un dono" means "embrace death because it's a gift," while "lascia andare la vita" means "let go of life." These lines may seem paradoxical, but if we delve deeper, we can see that they are about acceptance and transcendence.
The rest of the song continues with "abbandona questo tempo, niente più sofferenza, tutto è calma, lasciati andare, il dolore è andato," which means "leave this time, no more suffering, everything is calm, let yourself go, the pain is gone." These lines hint at a spiritual transcendence or acceptance of death as a natural part of life. The Docking Bay 94 could represent a point of departure, a place of letting go, and an opportunity to embrace the inevitable. Overall, the song encourages the listener to accept what cannot be changed and find peace in the face of life's greatest mystery.
