Longtime drummer Hilarie Sydney left the band in 2006, performing her last show at the Athens Popfestival.
Robert Schneider has side projects: Marbles, Ulysses, Thee American Revolution and a new kids music project under the name Robbert Bobbert & The Bubble Machine. He does a lot of commercial composition and film score work.

Sun Is Out
The Apples in Stereo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm sitting on my doorstep
Watching the world go 'round
When the crowd is dragging you down
I'll give you my street address
We'll take a ride downtown
Chorus
------
The sun is out
The sun is out
So come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, check it out
REPEAT CHORUS AT LEAST 4x
The lyrics of The Apples in Stereo's song "Sun Is Out" describe a simple but pleasant moment in which the singer is sitting on their doorstep, observing the bustling city sounds and the world around them. This moment of solitude is interrupted by the crowds of people, who can at times make us feel small and overwhelmed. However, the singer then offers their "street address" as a safe haven, a place to escape and venture out to downtown together. The chorus's repetitive phrase of "the sun is out" communicates a feeling of optimism and hope in the midst of everyday chaos.
It's possible to interpret the song as a call to action, inviting us to cast aside our worries and join in celebrating the beauty and warmth of the sun. Sunlight can have a positive impact on our mental and physical wellbeing, and by encouraging the listener to appreciate it and check it out with others, the song encourages social connection as well. The lyrics are simple and repetitive, but convey a sense of joy and lightness that can resonate in different ways.
