2. The Ark is a glam rock band from Växjö, Sweden. The band was formed in 1991 by Ola Salo, Mikael Jepson, and Lasse Ljungberg. Martin Axén joined the band in 1997, and Sylvester Schlegel in ‘99. Jens Andersson was the last one to officially join, in October 2006. Jens is a familiar face from many The Ark gigs, as he has played the keyboard with the band for several years. Their lyrics are mostly written by singer Ola Salo, and many of them are controversial, especially the earlier ones. For example, the 2002 single Father of a Son is about homosexuals’ right to have children. The band tour Scandinavia, Germany and Italy regularly and were one of the support acts to The Darkness on their 2006 UK tour.
The Ark participated in, and won, the Swedish Melodifestivalen 2007 with the song “The Worrying Kind”, written by Ola Salo. The song was also Sweden’s Eurovision 2007 entry and is included on their fourth album, Prayer For The Weekend. In the spring of 2010, the band relased their fifth album In Full Regalia and toured somewhat in connection with this. On December 8th 2010, the band announced on their website that they would release a greatest hits-album in early 2011, marking their 20th anniversary as a band. In connection with this, there is to be a club tour in Scandinavia. However, the band also announced that this would be their last club tour, only followed by some festival shows during the summer. The reason for this was said to be that the band felt they had achieved what they intended to artistically, and felt it was time to move on.
In early 2020 the band announced they will make a comeback with a summer tour around Sweden

And don't even think
don't open your purse
I can pay for you
That's the least I can do
You can pay me back in kisses when the month is through
I won't lie to you
There is no end to a love like ours
There is no end to love like ours
You've got some kind of dirt on your shoulder
Blood in your eyes
No surprises
So tell me again what the future is like
It's me a and it's you, a porch and a stool
Let's find out what the state provides for ageing fools
Would I lie to you?
There is no end to love like ours
There is no end to a love like ours
There is no end to love like ours
The song “No End” by The Ark is a beautiful love song with deeper meanings. The first verse of the song is about support and care for someone you love. The singer advises the person not to scratch their arm, which will only make things worse, and not to open their purse since he can pay for them. He wants to take care of this person, and his love for them knows no bounds. He lets them know that they can pay him back in kisses when the month is through. The singer reassures them that he won’t lie to them, and he will always be there for them.
The chorus of the song repeats the same lines, “There is no end to love like ours.” This line emphasizes the depth of love and how it doesn't have any boundaries or limits. It suggests that their love will continue to grow and prosper with time.
The second verse of the song is about accepting each other's flaws and embracing them. The singer tells the person they have some kind of dirt on their shoulder and blood in their eyes. These lines symbolize that they have been through tough times, but the love between them is strong enough to endure them. The singer asks the person to tell him again what the future is like, and he imagines it as just him and the person he loves, sitting on the porch and a stool. He wants to find out what the state provides for ageing fools, showing that he wants to spend the rest of his life with this person.
Overall, the song “No End” is a beautiful love song with underlying meanings. It portrays love as something that knows no bounds and can endure anything with the will of two people. It speaks about accepting each other's flaws and supporting and caring for each other to the best of their abilities.
