Believe In Me
The B.H.D Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

And you walked away
With no words left to say
And I followed you
Just to make sure you were okay
And all of the things I just couldn't say
I wish you were back just to tell them to your face

Cause being alone isn't something fun to do
I learned life continues even when it feels like a curse
I'll make sure you'll be okay when you go
I'm no longer gonna follow you
Cause you´re still in me

These pills aren't enough
and the alcohol seems a bit rough
but one way or the other
I have to get over this emptiness
We both know this is something we can't deny
So won't you come and play outside tonight

Cause being alone isn't something fun to do
I learned life continues even when it feels like a curse
I'll make sure you'll be okay when you go
I'm no longer gonna follow you
We both know this is something we can't deny
But wont you come and play outside tonight
Tonight

We both know this is something we can't deny
But wont you come and play outside tonight

Overall Meaning

The B.H.D's song "Believe in Me" is a moving and emotive ballad about the pain of heartbreak and the journey of healing that must occur after a relationship ends. The song opens with the singer lamenting the loss of a lover who has walked away, leaving them with no words left to say. Despite the pain of separation, the singer follows the lover just to make sure they are okay, revealing a deep connection that still exists between the two despite the breakup. The lyrics then turn introspective as the singer reflects on the things left unsaid, wishing that the lover would return to tell them to their face.

The chorus of the song is an emotional plea for the lover to return, pleading that being alone is not something fun to do and emphasizing that life must continue even when it feels like a curse. The singer promises to make sure that the lover will be okay when they go, but also acknowledge that they can no longer follow them. The second verse takes a darker turn, as the singer acknowledges that pills and alcohol cannot cure the emptiness left behind by a broken relationship. However, there is still a glimmer of hope as he suggests that they can overcome this pain together and invites the lover to come "play outside tonight."

Overall, "Believe in Me" is a powerful and thought-provoking song that captures the depth of emotion that comes with a broken heart. It speaks to the universal experience of heartbreak and the need for connection and hope in finding a way through the pain.

and to add, making this youtube thing work to me is more then just success financially. i want to be an entertainer, not to be confused with an actor. i just like making people laugh and smile and sometimes think. the state of disability and social security in our country right now is just..... yeah lol. motorhome sounds like the ultimate retirement vehicle it would be sweet if you were able to do road trip travel vlogs and make money off of it.

That is my hope. My husband is a bit worried about the idea and I don't blame him. He is on oxygen and we would need a source of power at night. They have solar panels and wind catchers as a power source now days. Been learning a lot about living off the grid. Very interesting. I know of some mountain property that people don't want that could even work for us. Bad for a house but you can park on it. Just need to have a rifle handy just in case big unwanted neighbors. lol

i think living in a motor home, you should have a rifle handy anyways lol. no matter where you are parked at :)

Did not know you live in CA. What part, are you close to Anaheim? I feel bad that I was out there and did not know this. But I do understand what you mean about making this YouTube thing work. I am worried about becoming homeless because my husband is having problem where he works, (down sizing). He is 60 and on oxygen. I am disabled. I want to get a Motorhome for us to travel and if need be live in. Was homeless before and it sucked. You can do this, I have faith in ya.
