They need to something like this for modern cartoons
Edit: Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Nickelodeon, CrunchyRoll, PBS Kids, Disney Channel etc should get together and do a celebration of cartoons from 1990-2030 and call it 40 Years of Fun !!!

It's too bad BANANA SPLITS song videos like this never appeared on MTV or VH1. I remember MTV had a MONKEES marathon in 1986 to commemorate the show's 20th Anniversary. They could've had a BANANA SPLITS marathon for that show's 20th Anniversary in 1988. The MONKEES & THE BANANA SPLITS were very similar to each other.

Actually The Monkees did tour with another H-B rock group. The Impossibles guest starred during their 20th anniversary tour. Don't know if both groups donned their superhero costumes thou.

A lot of people dismiss this because it was in a kid's show, but H-B had some kick-ass session musicians rocking for them. So did Filmation. You could have played this tunage without the Saturday Morning context, and still have yourself a great dance party. If you find a favorite or two among the bubblegum, no shame in playing it out loud.

I just LOVE the "very interesting" catchphrase at 1:38, it was already marked by Arte Johnson's German soldier character on Laugh-In as well as Velma on an episode from the first two seasons of Scooby-Doo. Out-of-sight, Baby!!!! LOL :)

I saw the premier episode of THE BANANA SPLITS ADVENTURE HOUR yesterday at the Paley Center for Media in Manhattan (it was initially called the Museum of Television Radio and before that the Museum of Broadcasting), and this music segment did appear in it. "You're The Lovin End could not have been made in 1969 if it appeared in the first episode THE BANANA SPLITS WHICH AIRED IN 1968.

So that's what Al Kooper was doing between Blood, Sweat and Tears and Lynyrd Skynyrd. If he knuckled down and let another singer take the mike, what would that have meant for the latter band? Not sure I want to know.

Like in the Marx Bros movies, the crappest bits were the musical bits. Maybe because when i watched this it was the early to mid-seventies and all this third rate psych pop was very old fashioned......of course now it sounds great.

I wonder why they used six second segments of PRECIOUS PUP, SQUIDDLY DIDDLY, and the IMPOSSIBLES in this rock video of "You're the Lovin End?" And why were Atom Ant, Precious Pup, Granny Sweets, the Hillbilly Bears, Secret Squirrel and Morroco Morocco Mole flash across the screens? I liked but what did have the BANANA SPLITS song?

@dtrocks05 Not sure who the actual musicians were. I've never been able to find out. I'm quite certain it's not Eric Burdon - although the singer on "Gonna Find a Cave" sounds a little like him. Most likely, just session musicians that Hanna-Barbera contracted with.
