Who Says We're Through
The Band CAMINO Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There's a million ways to read your body, love
And I know
That I'll wake up every morning and find another one
Oh, another one
And you say
That's the seventh time you've told me that today
So no more lies
Who says we're through?
Who says we're through?
And after all
We never seem to do much anyway
And that's the first time
You haven't had another thing to say
And so it goes
Another bout of shouting now, I'm sure
But then again
We never really do that anymore
No not anymore, anymore, 'cause
Who says we're through?
Who says we're through?
Who says we're through?
Who says we're through?
Who says we're through? (Who says we're through?)
Who says we're through? (All I ever wanted was you)
In the opening lines of this song, The Band CAMINO singer is talking about how there are many different ways to read his partner's body language, and that he is constantly looking for new ways to understand her better. He then talks about waking up each morning and discovering something new about her. This suggests that their relationship is still somewhat new, and that they haven't quite figured each other out yet.
The next few lines involve an argument between the two, where the singer says that his partner has lied to him multiple times that day. He tells her that she can't continue to lie and that they have to find another way to communicate. However, the chorus then comes in, saying "Who says we're through?", suggesting that despite their arguments and disagreements, their relationship is not yet over.
In the second verse, the singer talks about how they don't do much together, but there was a brief moment of silence where she didn't have anything to say. He then talks about how they used to argue frequently, but they don't anymore, hinting that perhaps they have grown apart and lost some of the passion they once had. Ultimately, the song seems to suggest that the relationship is on shaky ground, but there is still love there, and it's not quite over yet.

And I know
I understand that your body language can have a million different interpretations, love
There's a million ways to read your body, love
I understand that your body language can have a million different interpretations, love
That I'll wake up every morning and find another one
Every day is a new day, and I'll always find a new way to read you
Oh, another one
Another way to interpret your body language, love
And you say
You tell me
That's the seventh time you've told me that today
You've already said that seven times today
So no more lies
Stop lying
You're gonna have to find another way
You need to come up with a new approach
Who says we're through?
Who said we're breaking up?
And after all
Despite everything
We never seem to do much anyway
We don't really seem to have much going on in our relationship anyway
And that's the first time
That's the first time
You haven't had another thing to say
You're not saying anything else
And so it goes
It's always the same
Another bout of shouting now, I'm sure
I'm sure we're going to start arguing again
But then again
On the other hand
We never really do that anymore
We don't really argue like we used to anymore
No not anymore, anymore, 'cause
Not anymore, because
Who says we're through?
Who said we're breaking up?
Who says we're through?
Who said we're breaking up?
Who says we're through?
Who said we're breaking up?
Who says we're through?
