Susanna Hoffs released two solo albums in the 90's (a third album remained unreleased). Vicki Peterson joined the Continental Drifters. Debbie Peterson had a short-lived career with Siobhan Maher as Kindred Spirit, while Michael Steele lived in semi-retirement in California.
The Bangles reconvened in 2000 and recorded a reunion album, released in 2003, on Koch Records called "Doll Revolution". By lucky coincidence(?) their single 'Eternal Flame' had since been covered by, and become a hit record for, Atomic Kitten which helped to rekindle interest in its original artist.
"Sweetheart of the Sun," The Bangles first album of original material since "Doll Revolution" was released September 27, 2011. The Anna Lee (Sweetheart Of The Sun) Songfacts states that the album was recorded in various home studios - those of Vicki Peterson and Susanna Hoffs as well as the Hollywood Hills home studio of singer-songwriter Matthew Sweet, who produced the record.
They continue to play live sporadically. In January 2018, they played their first show since 2016 at Honda Center in Anaheim. It also was their first gig with original bassist Annette Zilinskas since 1983.

I hear you sing yourself to sleep
The sky opens up over your room
You sail into your moonlight dreams
So much more than we can see
So much more than we can see.
All we are and all we need is
All we are is all we need to be
Grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Oh, grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Oh, grateful (all we are and all we need).
This guitar can sing these songs
Changes me instantly
Love is too simple a word
For here comes the sun in the morning
Suddenly happiness
Comes rollin' up from inside me.
All we are and all we need is
All we are and all we need is
All we are is all we need to be
Grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Oh, grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Oh, grateful (all we are and all we need).
Carry you up in my arms
I hear you sing yourself to sleep
The sky opens up over your room
You sail into your moonlight dreams
So much more than we can see
There's so much more than we can see.
All we are and all we need is
All we are and all we need is
All we are is all we need to be
Grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Oh, grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Grateful (all we are is all we need to be)
Oh, grateful.
All we are and all we need is
All we are and all we need is
All we are is all we need to be
Grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Oh, grateful (all we are and all we need is)
Grateful (all we are is all we need to be)
Oh, grateful.
All we are and all we need is
All we are and all we need is
All we are is all we need to be
All we are and all we need is
All we are and all we need is
All we are is all we need to be.
The Bangles's "Grateful" is a beautiful love song in which the singer is expressing her deep affection for someone who means a lot to her. The first verse describes the singer carrying the person in her arms and hearing them sing themselves to sleep. The image of the sky opening up over the room and the person sailing into their moonlight dreams is a beautiful metaphor for the tranquility of sleep and the transformative power of imagination. The second verse is about the transformative power of music. The singer talks about how playing the guitar changes her instantly and how love is too simple a word to describe the feeling of happiness that comes over her. The refrain repeats the central idea of the song: all we are and all we need is gratitude.
The lyrics of "Grateful" emphasize the importance of gratitude in life. The singer is grateful for her loved one, for the transformative power of music, and for the beauty of the night sky. This gratitude is a powerful force that brings happiness and contentment. The refrain "All we are and all we need is grateful" is a reminder that gratitude is a simple but powerful force that can help us find happiness and meaning in life.
