Susanna Hoffs released two solo albums in the 90's (a third album remained unreleased). Vicki Peterson joined the Continental Drifters. Debbie Peterson had a short-lived career with Siobhan Maher as Kindred Spirit, while Michael Steele lived in semi-retirement in California.
The Bangles reconvened in 2000 and recorded a reunion album, released in 2003, on Koch Records called "Doll Revolution". By lucky coincidence(?) their single 'Eternal Flame' had since been covered by, and become a hit record for, Atomic Kitten which helped to rekindle interest in its original artist.
"Sweetheart of the Sun," The Bangles first album of original material since "Doll Revolution" was released September 27, 2011. The Anna Lee (Sweetheart Of The Sun) Songfacts states that the album was recorded in various home studios - those of Vicki Peterson and Susanna Hoffs as well as the Hollywood Hills home studio of singer-songwriter Matthew Sweet, who produced the record.
They continue to play live sporadically. In January 2018, they played their first show since 2016 at Honda Center in Anaheim. It also was their first gig with original bassist Annette Zilinskas since 1983.
Hero Takes a Fall
The Bangles Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
His crimes are brought to the light of day
Won't be feelin' sorry, sorry, sorry
On the judgement day
It wasn't me who said
There'll be a price to pay
And I won't feel bad at all
When the hero takes a fall
(Hero takes a fall) oh no
Your mother told you stories
You substitute with girls who tell you more
Suddenly you sight a fancy chance
Since love is at your door
We're seeing through you now
I saw it all before
And I won't feel bad at all
When the hero takes a fall
When the hero takes a fall
(Hero takes a fall) oh no
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh
Oh oh, oh oh, uh-huh oh
Emotion is a virtue
For you, it is the one fatal flaw
Sitting on your throne and drinking
Thinking she'll return your call
Every story's got an ending
Look out! Here it comes, here it comes
And I won't feel bad at all
When the hero takes a fall
When the hero takes a fall
(Hero takes a fall) oh woe, woe hoe
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh
Oh oh, oh oh, uh-huh oh
The Bangles' song Hero Takes A Fall describes a person who has been caught committing a crime and is exposed to the public. The first verse emphasizes the inevitability of the hero's downfall and that he won't feel sorry for his actions on judgement day. The chorus reinforces that the singer and others won't feel bad about the hero's fall from grace, with a hint of a celebratory tone. The second verse delves into the hero's character, suggesting that he is a womanizer who is caught up in the fantasy of love until reality catches up to him. The bridge points out that emotion, which may be seen as a positive quality in many people, is a fatal flaw in the hero's character.

Great music of the 80s. Brings great memories for me. My 20s were spent in the 80s man what a rush! Living and Loving in the Colorado mountains and grateful for the life I have had so far, and the wonderful woman I met and we married, 1985 Evergreen Colorado

Such an upbeat, silly and innuendo laden video. Their is some illuminati symbolism too, with Susanna mostly. She's wearing pyramid earrings and she and the mannequin don black, white and red on the bed together. It's always something
