Yeah yeah yeah
Well I'm going back this summer to Ohio
I'm gonna seek out all my friends I've always known
I'm goin' back to that farm that I remember
Well I'm goin' to spend this summer back home

Back home (back home, back home, back home)
I'll spend my summer (back home)
Back home (back home)

Back home (back home, back home, back home)
I'll spend my summer (back home)
Back home (back home)

I'm gonna get up every morning before the roosters
I'll run downstairs fix my breakfast all alone
I'll milk those cows feed the chickens and the horses
Well I'm gonna spend this summer back home

Back home (back home, back home, back home)
I'll spend my summer (back home)
Back home (back home)

Back home (back home, back home, back home)
I'll spend my summer (back home)
Back home (back home)

I'll eat everything that Ma puts on the table
When I get back you won't believe how I've grown
I'll hit the sack early everynight thinkin' 'bout tomorrow whoa oh
Well I'm gonna spend this summer back home
Back home, back home, back home

Back home (back home, back home, back home)
I'll spend my summer (back home)
That's what I'm gonna do that's where I'm gonna be, that's this summer
Back home (back home)

Back home (back home, back home, back home)
I'll spend my summer (back home)
Gonna get up, gonna get up, gonna get up every morning
Back home (back home)

Back home (back home, back home, back home)
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
I'll spend my summer (back home)
Hey woo feels okay back home
Back home (back home)

Back home (back home, back home, back home)

I'll spend my summer (back home)
Back home

Overall Meaning

The lyrics describe the daily routine of waking up early, tending to the livestock, and enjoying home-cooked meals prepared by "Ma." The song paints a picture of an idyllic rural existence that serves as a contrast to the fast-paced, urban lifestyle that the band members experience when on the road.

The chorus repeats the phrase "Back home, I'll spend my summer" several times, emphasizing the desire to return to a simpler, more grounded existence. The refrain is catchy and upbeat, reflecting the positive, uplifting mood of the song. The Beach Boys' signature harmonies are on full display, adding to the nostalgic, feel-good atmosphere of the track.

$199k? Are these prices like from 1999? I doubt your'e finding much under $400K in outer banks, except vacant lots and maybe a mobile home here or there.

First house living area feels awful. Nice outdoor space.

Second house interior is better but the yard would be a loss.

Great outdoor space in the third. The kitchen is sad. The direct entry into the kitchen is a problem. Upstairs was really odd.
