Formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961, the original group comprised singer-musician-composer and bandleader Brian Wilson, his brothers Carl Wilson and Dennis Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. Wilson neighbor David Marks appeared on their first four albums and was a member from 1962 to 1963 as a temporary replacement for Jardine, who had left the group to pursue a career in dentistry.
On their first few studio albums, the group primarily played surf music, but this changed after 1964 as their songs became more sophisticated and autobiographical. The 1965 album Today! particularly represented this shift in sound. Bruce Johnston joined the group that same year. Session drummer Hal Blaine is quoted: "We all studied in conservatories; we were trained musicians. We thought it was a fluke at first, but then we realized Brian was writing these incredible songs. This was not just a young kid writing about high school and surfing."
Following their most esteemed work, Pet Sounds (1966), the band became symbols of psychedelic counterculture. The highly anticipated follow-up, Smile, was left unfinished, and Brian soon relinquished his creative hold on the group. A trilogy of lo-fi releases followed: Smiley Smile (1967), Wild Honey (1967), and Friends (1968). Brian would not be credited as a primary composer for any Beach Boys album until 1977's Love You, an album on the fringe of synth-pop, new wave, and punk.
In Brian's absence, the Beach Boys still managed to release music that was regarded favorably by fans and critics despite poor sales: Sunflower (1970) and Surf's Up (1971). South African musicians Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar played and sang with the band on the next two albums: Carl & the Passions - So Tough (1972), and Holland (1973).
Many changes in both musical style and personnel have occurred in their sometimes-stormy career: Brian Wilson's mental illness and drug addiction; the deaths of Dennis Wilson in 1983 and Carl Wilson in 1998; and continuing legal battles among surviving members of the group. With the release of 1974's Endless Summer they became a more popular touring act, playing their greatest hits. They have recorded 36 Billboard Top 40 hits (including four number-one singles), have had over 100 million sales, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

Auld Lang Syne
The Beach Boys Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
One Two, One Two Three
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should old acquaintance be forgot
And days of Auld Lang Syne
For Auld Lang Syne, my dear
For Auld Lang Syne
May old acquaintance be forgot
And days of Auld Lang Syne
The Beach Boys's song Auld Lang Syne is a classic new year's eve tune that reflects on the old memories and friendships of the past year. The song begins with a question, "Should old acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind," which refers to the act of forgetting about old friendships and the memories we shared with them. The song's answer is a resounding no, as the chorus repeatedly states that we should remember old acquaintances and cherish the memories of "Auld Lang Syne."
The phrase "Auld Lang Syne" is a Scottish expression that means "old long since" or "long, long ago." The song is typically sung at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve to bring in the new year and to remember those we have lost and the good times we have had. The song's message is one of love and remembrance, as it calls on us to cherish our relationships and memories, even as we move forward into the future.
Overall, The Beach Boys's take on the classic song is a poignant and catchy ode to the past, reminding us to never forget the people and moments that have shaped us. It is a perfect tune for New Year's Eve celebrations or any time we want to take a moment to reflect on our lives.

Please excuse my delay in getting back to you. It was 5:00 AM and I had to go and feed my Critters, Squirrels, Birds Deer, indoor Cats, and do insignificant Morning chores.
For one thing, the songs I Downloaded are ones that I like.
Not too sure everybody would especially care for them.
Another thing, when I first began downloading songs I was receiving notifications that People I didn't know we're "Joining" my Channel.
A Channel I didn't even know I had !
It scared me a little.
One day My Daughter told me, in a rather smug way, She could see all my music. That didn't bother me, but I got thinking of the other people, put 2 and 2 together and found out why.
(My Daughter grew up with Tech, I did not. She knew why and apparently thought it amusing and didn't tell Me why)
That's when and why I chose the,
'Locked, Only You could see it Option'.
I'm sure you can ascertain by now I'm in no way Tech Savvy, lol.
What I Can do are things I've had to learn myself. As Janis would say, "No Help From My Friends", or in my case my 3 Grew up with Tech Children 😏.
Now there are actually things I've learned that They don't know.
I don't think they like that.
Oh well, what's an Old "Sister" to do ?
Hope I've clarified my situation adequately 😏.

The Beach Boys' arrangement was - strictly speaking - derived from The Four Freshmen, whom Brian Wilson owes his early musical influences.
Matt O
and Brian Wilson always acknowledged that influence when speaking on the music/arrangements and such. Brian Wilson was...is....a class act.

This might just be a new New Year's tradition for me...

Faut-il nous quitter sans espoir, sans espoir de retour,
Faut-il nous quitter sans espoir de nous revoir un jour?
Ce n´est qu´un "Au revoir", mes frères,
