Barbara Ann
The Beach Boys Lyrics
A Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Barbara Ann
Take my hand
Barbara Ann
You got me rockin' and a rollin'
Rockin' and a reelin'
Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Saw Barbara Ann, so I thought I'd take a chance on
Barbara Ann
Barbara Ann, Barbara Ann
Take my hand
Barbara Ann, Barbara Ann
Take my hand
You got me rockin' and a rollin'
Rockin' and a reelin'
Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Barbara Ann
Take my hand
Barbara Ann
You got me rockin' and a rollin'
Rockin' and a reelin'
Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
(Let's go now)
(Takin' it in, Carl)
(Hal, and his famous ashtray)
(You smell like Rocky, you're always scratchin' it)
(Hey, come on)
(Scratch it, Carl, scratch it, baby, right over there)
(Down a little lower, down a little lower)
(Saw, tried)
Tried Peggy Sue
Tried Peggy Lou
Tried Mary Lou
But I knew she wouldn't do
Barbara Ann, Barbara Ann
Take my
Barbara Ann
Take my hand
You got me rockin' and a rollin'
Rockin' and a reelin'
Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Barbara Ann
Take my hand
Barbara Ann
You got me rockin' and a rollin'
Rockin' and a reelin'
Barbara Ann
Ba-Ba-Ba-Barbara Ann
Barbara Ann, Barbara Ann
Barbara Ann, Barbara Ann

It was The Beach Boys' biggest hit in Italy, reaching #4. The song was also released on the 1965 album "Beach Boys' Party!" Brian Wilson and Dean Torrence, who had previously recorded the song as one half of Jan and Dean, are featured on lead vocals. Dean is not credited on the album jacket but "Thanks, Dean" is said by Carl at the end of the track.
A version recorded by the Beach Boys without the "Beach Boys' Party!" effects can be found on the "Hawthorne, CA" album. The Beach Boys made a false start on the Party! album by singing "Baa Baa Black Sheep" instead of "Baa Baa Baa Baa Barbara Ann". The Beach Boys sang this song as an encore on their "Live In London" album. Brian Wilson has a rendition on his live "Roxy" CD, and in 2001, performed it himself, with the ensemble, on An All-Star Tribute to Brian Wilson.

This song reminds me of my mom. She'd wake up at 7:15 am every morning and immediately run the washing machine. Then, she would get dressed in the bathroom. After that, she made breakfast. She'd serve toast, fruit, and ham. She'd boil eggs for 7 minutes, unless she decided to fry them instead. Finally, she would make roasted broccoli to top it off. Once everything was prepared, she'd give our family a good morning kiss. By this time the washing machine would be done and she'd put the laundry to dry, before going to the bus stop. She'd catch the bus at 8:06 am to go to the airport where she worked at a duty-free store. When she'd get at the bus stop, a boy living near us would always appear out of nowhere and offer to carry her things. When it rained, somebody else would always come and walk her to the stop under their umbrella. All along the way, they'd have fun little chats. It was because all of my neighbours respected my mother, and they all really cared for her.

The most beautiful comment I have seen on YouTube, thank you for sharing. That brought tears to my eyes. We must encourage our women to be more like your Mother!👍

This song reminds me of my mom named Barbara Ann. She’s loved by the community and the neighbor kids help walk her to work.

The perfect mother for two incredible sons🤗

I've never been so happy in my entire life. It's the most perfect and beautiful karma. I had an old roommate who loves the Beach Boys, but she despised JJBA. I wish I could personally shake Araki's hand and thank him for the most absolutely perfect indirect vengeance that I could have never devised on my own. I also told my mom, who loves JJBA and this group. She was delighted. Happy Jojo Friday!

@BRUNETE You're right! Thanks for the reminder! Araki knows how to return to the greats. The fact that we do have three times on the roster makes it even better! I'm now in the Jojo era in which said roommate is moved out, so it makes my enjoyment even stronger. ❤️
