Wild Honey
The Beach Boys Lyrics

Sweet sweet honey bee
Eat up, eat up, eat up, honey

Mama I'm tellin' you as sure as I'm standing here
She's my girl and that's the way I'm keeping it now mama dear
No good will it do you to stand there and frown at me
The girl's got my heart and my love's coming down on me
My love's coming down since I got a taste of wild honey
You know she's got the sweetness of a honey bee
Wild honey
She got it on and stung me good yes sirree

With all the other stud bees buzzing all around her hive
She singled me out, single handed took me alive
Well can you can, you gonna take my life eating up her wild honey

(Sweet, sweet,honey bee)
(Eat up, eat up, eat up, honey)

Oh mama she's sweeter
Gettin' sweeter
Sweeter, sweeter
Sweet

Wild honey
Let me tell you how she really got to my soul
It ain't funny
The way she make want to sing a little rock 'n' roll
There's nothing quite nice as a kiss of wild honey
I break my back workin' just to save me some money
So I can spend my life with her
Sock it to me wild honey
Wild honey, she's mine
Wild honey, she's mine
(Sweet, sweet,honey bee)
(Eat up, eat up, eat up, honey)

@The High Llama
Their Sounds of Summer CD was the last cd I bought. I was looking for a replacement for their Made in USA tape from what year? 1988? Whatever, was a long time ago. Sounds of Summer was the closest to what I wanted. I wasn't sure about Darlin' or I can Hear Music and they turned out to be a couple more favorites. Maybe one of these times I'll have to go back to the bookstore I got the cds from. Yup, sometimes you never know until you try. I may not be an expert but I know what I like. It'll have to wait for now, til this COVID-19 thing is over, or at least gets better. I'll keep it in mind on my 'to-do' list.

@Lynn Kanerva For a long time, I never thought of the Beach Boys as an album group, more like a hit-singles group. Even after hearing Pet Sounds (supposedly their masterpiece), back in 1990 I think, I was like, 'Meh'. I still bought other Beach Boys albums on CD, but never gave them a listen. However, about five years ago, I was bored, nothing to listen to in the car. So, I grabbed the Wild Honey CD. It really impressed me. The title song, and almost all the other songs on it, were very good to great. I can't believe the title song and Darlin' (another great song from the album) weren't big hits back in the day. A lo-fi album to be sure, only 24 minutes in length, and it might take a few listens to appreciate, but still great overall. Two other great Beach Boys albums: Sunflower (1970) and 20/20 (1969). Those albums also took two or three listens to appreciate. You won't be blown away immediately, but the melodies of many of the songs might eventually stick with you. I know discovering new music is a personal thing, everyone has particular and sometimes peculiar tastes. And I'm no big Beach Boys fan. Nonetheless, I know a great album when I hear it.
